Prime Steak & Grill in St Albans

Had such a lovely lunch yesterday at prime in St Albans. After telling the waiter it was my birthday he brought over a delicious glass of Prosecco on the house, and also brought over a bowl of ice cream with a candle at the end of our meal; which I was so grateful for!Me and my friend had two courses off of the lunch menu, and my goodness were both dishes delicious. To start I had the short rib Benedict (which was a huge portion considering it’s a lunch menu and normally they can be a bit stingy) and then had the burger which was also delicious.Thanks prime for making my birthday lunch so enjoyable!

Really enjoy eating in this restaurant.... the service and food is of the highest quality ( they don't get it all right all of the time , but usually they do ) and even though it is not the cheapest of places, I always feel i have received good value for money.I always look forward to our return visits and would recommend it to anyone who hasn't been to go.In a nutshell... great food, great service, great value , great place !

Great food and service. Really nice menu with a mix of dishes for everyone. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, they made my mums birthday really special.

First time here and to be honest probably the last one. The staff was friendly but the food was below average. We ordered a bone-in Rib Eye and a fillet. The Rib Eye looked like a steak you buy from Waitrose and the taste was average. The fillet didn’t have much flavor either. Also they need to get some new steak knives it was so hard to cut the meat.Way too overpriced for the quality.

Always a brilliant experience here. Consistently delicious food with amazing staff and a lovely atmosphere. A place where starters, main courses and dessert are equally fantastic and never disappoint. Slightly more expensive but definitely worth the price.

First-class steakhouse which can also prepare flavourful starters.Been there for my birthday, myself and my partner ordered two starters to share, tuna tataki and scallops.The seasoning of the tuna was delicious, a perfect combination of cucumber, mint and avocado. Scallops were also good, I liked the combination with the Irish black pudding.The steak we had was the chateaubriand - it was really tender and tasty. Amazing.In addition, we also got some cheese scones with butter and crème fraiche at the beginning of our dinner.The location is also pretty nice, the staff was very kind and welcoming. Recommended

The steaks are ok but nothing to write home about. Unfortunately the service did not match the expected level. The waiter dropped my Mac and cheese and then spilt the water onto my friends lap. He didn't offer to bring any tissues to wipe up and he did a shoddy job of clearing it up. The food was served to the wrong seats on our table. At this price I expect better quality waiting.

We are vegetarian so were pleasantly surprised that the veg dishes at a steak house were so good! We have had the tortellini twice this week and tried the crème brûlée & pavlova. We recommend all three. The service is excellent; friendly, professional and swift. We will be back and will bring guests! Thank you to the staff for a lovely experience.

For a start the staff were fantastic! So polite and welcoming and some of the nicest people I’ve encountered in a restaurant. The food was amazing, cooked to absolute perfection and perfect portion sizes. Cannot recommend enoug! We will return!

Service was great, they didn’t have a cocktail nanna liked so they made her a special one with Baileys and white chocolate. (Her face says it all)Food was all perfect, would recommend!
