I'm extremely annoyed with my first experience here. Thought I'd give the place a try because it looked cute. Came in at 15:40 on Sunday thinking to have a nice Sunday afternoon tea and scone. The scones were ice cold and super stale. We asked them to warm it up but it just fell apart. The area we sat at was filthy and wet and the couches were damaged. Also, the children screaming and running around making the already-unpleasant experience even more unpleasant. The cherry on the cake was when a staff member came around telling everyone they're closing at 4, when it said they close at 5 on Google. Why was I served then? I felt uncomfortable and rushed and didn't even finish my tea. Definitely NEVER coming back here.

It looks like a cool place and had a cool name – so we gave it a whirl.Moist and velvety soft inside; crunchy on the outside, our generously sized apple and raspberry crumble muffin oozed with yumminess. I cannot vouch for tea, coffee etc as we had none. The comfort of the high-backed armchair was marred by a few old crumbs in the joins and stains on it the seat in general. They really need to clean properly! A little overpriced perhaps but the muffin was almost worth it. Though, ‘d not go again. It appears nicely wheelchair accessible and has a couple of highchairs. But I’d bring your own disinfectant wipes to wipe them before putting your kid in them!Staff seem indifferent even though the place was not busy. There are better places in St Alban’s. Some likely have nice muffins too but in a cleaner place and with friendlier staff. If I didn't like the muffin so much I would have given two stars rather than three.

They always do a good cup of coffee and my partner loves their muffins but they're too big for me 😁 so I go for a pain au raisin which are delicious.I would have given 5 stars but the thing that let's it down is the tables are not emptied and cleaned enough. I appreciate it must be difficult at busy times but there seems to be plenty of staff behind the counter. All in all a good café.

Pretty poor - has lost its way. Questionable freshness of food. Grubby tables that although quiet were taking the staff an age to clear. And the toilets are rank - not just the bowl but dirt engrained floor - dust and filth round bins. The coffee is still nice however - just up your standards and take some care!

It's nice and friendly and in a good location however it seemed chaotic behind the till which was reflected in our order as of the two drinks, both weren't in takeaway cups as requested (and was acknowledged in the original order) and one was completely wrong and to add insult to injury was in dirty crockery which we didn't notice until we sat down. It was too busy to complain otherwise we would of. Shame.

It looks really nice from the outside. But, boy were we disappointed. Food not fresh, unfriendly staff and very dirty - toilets were especially gross. Serious hygiene problem. My wife asked if she can have more hot water in her tea pot and was told 'sorry, we can't add hot water'. Absolutely nothing exquisite about the service or hygiene.

A lovely and very spacious place in town centre to have breakfast or coffee. Love the atmosphere and place from inside as well as outside.Unfortunately our order was kind of mixed up and their washing machine was not working so they served us in takeaway cups and takeaway bags instead of cups and plates.

It’s cozy, packed and warm. It’s affordable too, we paid £13.50 for our order. Their muffin milk shake is amazing and their minced pie is divine. The crust just melts! The ladies in the counter are so quick trying to accommodate to a lot of costumers that’s one of the main reasons why they clear up tables so fast..😂

I've been here a few times. They have vegan and gluten free goodies. The service is good and the staff are always polite. However on this visit I was shocked when a customer fell over, near the toilets, after the floor had been mopped. When I spoke to the member of staff she flippantly said 'there's a floor wet sign'. Unfortunately the sign was at the other side of the shop and not within sight of where me or the injured customer was sitting ....... maybe you need to buy more signs
