I really like the location. It has many rooms with real english atmosphere. It has a big garden as well. Food was good, but not my type (bit too heavy). Vegetarian options not completely clear.

Popped here for a Sunday roast dinner and it was delicious. Good selection on the menu for starters, mains and puddings. Service was great and the wine was tasty. The views across the grounds are lovely and we had a seat near the window during sunset, which cast a nice orange glow over the room. The outside seating area looked nice, with large parasols and patio heaters. Will be great in the summer time, with lots of room for kids to go off and play whilst the adults natter.

Would give zero stars if I could. Food was AWFUL!!!!!! Ordered chili and oil prawn starter, arrived barely cooked and drowning in oil. No taste whatsoever. Mains were a steak and ale pudding with garlic mash and veg...what I got was a raw suet casing full of what looked like dog food in Bisto gravy. The mash....was boxed potatoes with zero flavour that looked like they were made yesterday. The veg was a few pieces of bitter Cabbage. The second main was chicken curry and the chicken was so hard it could barely be cut. It was a birthday dinner and due to the garbage food we were in and out of the restaurant less than an hour.

Beautiful place, great surroundings. The food was nothing particularly special even though the portion was generous.Good selection of on tap drinks.Super friendly staff.

Lovely pub in a beautiful setting. Serving typical pub food. Food does let’s it down a little. Roast was not the best with meat a little dry. However fish and chips were good. Prices were reasonable. Roast £15-£20 cheapest main was burger £14

Great food, good service, my advice is book, we were told by the restaurant it will be fine, but was nearly fall when we got there, however they found us a table. Also dog friendly. Well done and thank you.It was my daughter's birthday so was nice to have such a great time

This pub is lovely. The staff, decor and the ambience is welcoming and cosy. They have a lovely roaring fireplace which you can sit next to and enjoy a drink. We had the turkey roast and the vegetarian mushroom, chestnut and lentil Wellington. My husband said the turkey roast is one of the best roasts he had ever had. Everything was fantastic. The Wellington and trimmings unfortunately lacked flavour but was a very generous portion size.We also had mulled wine which is some of the tastiest mulled wine we have had. For dessert we had a scoop of honeycomb ice cream and the sticky toffee pudding which was pretty standard. The portion of the pudding is very generous portion but the ice cream portions are very small small (or maybe that’s because a lot of it melted by the time we got it.)We would definitely visit again.

I love this place and the way is decorated, plus you nevet get disappointed with the food. I tried this time the trout and it was super good, the fennel salad was amazing! The mushrooms pie and the Sunday roast are also nice tasty options.

The place, staff and food were amazing, cannot fault any. Have no idea why some reviews said it was hard to order?! it was almost full yesterday, but we got our food for 6 people in under 40 mins from arriving to the pub which I think is great service. only downside would be that they ran out of hot chocolate and fresh mint tea because it was so delicious!! but I did get a free refill on my tea which is again great service! Highly recommended, Lamb was out of this world❤️
