Lovely venue with a great selection of ales, lagers and spirits. However, the staff were not overly welcoming and having waited patiently at the bar for just shy of 9 minutes we were finally asked if we were waiting (not a particularly busy night), we moved on to another venue shortly after

Wow my partner left a review stating that the food was below average, and that she never ate any of the Sunday roast , and was told that she we were never there , and the manager apparently collected all plates at that sitting . Instead of addressing the problem, and offering a solution, not even an apology or an offer of a free coffee , just grabbed the money . Will definitely never ever go back . Here is the proof attached that you asked for . 😡😡

Wouldnt eat again.Sunday roast took over an hour even tho it wasn’t busy.Must have been left on the side then put in a microwave as was rock solid when we got it.Worst but was we paid when we went in before it came.Didn’t eat a thing on the plate.wouldn’t ever go back.Just to be even more insulting the manager leaves a message virtually calling myself a liar and saying we wasn’t there.I have email confirmation Sunday 27th February. 1pm till 3pm.Zowie.Happy to send this to you and then you can retract the lying comment and no empty plates.Absolutely disgusting customer service

Amazing service for myself and my girlfriend. Had a great experience at the bar from a number of staff members, especially Callum who looked after us very well and gave us a great night out

·

An excellent night @ the Arms with the Carnegie’s rocking the bar. The Arms is run by a friendly professional team who over the last few years have successfully returned an active vibrant soul to this traditional British pub.

·

Good atmosphere and in a central position. Very pleasant staff. The only problem is the price of drink: over £9.00 for a glass of red wine!! 😤 We all know prices have risen and, admittedly it was a largish glass, but...

Dan was incredibly rude to several of my family, we made a few requests before our visit to which were confirmed over the phone with another manager, but he said we were wrong and to quote he said "you are ruining my Christmas eve" when he was in fact making our Christmas eve and incredibly unpleasant experience.Edit: thanks for your reply Dan. However, based on our experience you were very rude to two of the ladies in our group, even going as far to laugh at them to their face about the requests that had been approved over the phone prior to our visit. You were arguing back from the very start with our group, offering no help to rectify the issues. Considering this and the stress this caused the retaliation from our group was minimal and one member of our party asked you to leave to ensure that further agitation was caused by your attitude and comments. Then for you to have the cheek to say "you're ruining my Christmas eve" I would suggest that next Christmas eve you book some time off if you can't handle the stress and provide good customer service.

Went for a large party. Atmosphere and booze was good but food was limiting, tiny and shared veg plates (one between 7), not the best idea given current times. Meal was so tiny given limited Xmas menu and inconsistent (mine was half the size of the person's next to me)

Returned 17th Oct 21 - Same excellent roast (£16 - choice of beef, pork or chicken). Absolutely lovely. What makes it even better is this has become a proper craft beer pub with lots of changing taps including 2 Tiny Rebels & Siren.1st Review - 2020 - Take a bow! Sunday Roast was an absolute winner. Best in years... coupled with pints of Neck Oil. Very Covid conscious & lovely staff. Can't rate highly enough.

Excellent Fuller’s pub in middle of town. Happy and friendly staff. Nice decor - modern but comfortable and not fussy. Enjoy a good pint of Frontier!! 🍺
