Food was fab ..a bit smoky as real fires on either side of the lounge were burning but when you sat down the smoky air didn't seem that bad. Good service very friendly if I'm passing there again I would def go back

Great little pub but a bit off putting with dogs allowed in the eating areas.. we had excellent Sunday roasts!

Can’t fault the place! We were visiting from out of town and looking for a pub with vegetarian options for dinner. The menu benefits from several vegan options, there is a great selection of ale, decor is modern and tasteful, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I wish I were local so I could go again!

Very friendly service, but the fish in the fish and chips was awful; two small overcooked, overbattered, thin pieces, hard to find any fish. Chips were nice though! Cup of tea came with the bag swimming in the cup and served with Demerara sugar!!!

Sunday Roast - Tier 2 Dec 20. Lovely pub. Cold day & they had 2 fires going. All Covid precautions in place. Friendly & helpful staff. BT Neck Oil on tap. Roast was excellent - £12. Halloumi fries starter £6 & desert £5. Recommended & we shall return!

I was driving along the way to Harpenden after a long day at work. Saw this place and decided to try it out. Totally fantastic place. It has a long history since the 1600s I think and if you ask the owner of the place would be more than happy to tell you about it. I ordered the Red Cow Burger with sweet potatoes fries. Although it took a while to make it, they did not disappoint. The burger was delicious and tasty. The sweet potatoes fries were hand cut and cooked fresh. The service was fabulous. I really enjoyed my dinner here at this 100% authentic not a tourist trap kinda place.
