The Slug and Lettuce, St Albans in St Albans

Jamie was amazing!! He was telling us all the good cocktails to have ( which is basically most of them! ) he is a credit to the team and most definitely kept the pub’s atmosphere for the night!Thanks Jamie for looking after us!!

Woah, what an experience! I came to this fine establishment not more than 3 weeks ago and, may I say, the service/experience was utterly impeccable. This was all possible because of one man…Joe WeaverNaturally a timid person I approached the bar with caution, but the warm smile from this handsome gentleman eased me and I proceeded to order 4 Cosmos and an espresso martini for good measure. The service was the quickest and most efficient I’ve ever experienced at any bar. Period. I will definitely be coming back to consume more sensational drinks by Joe Weaver.

Two words. Joe Weaver. Exceptional service making you feel welcome every time you visit. Some might even say he’s the best barman in the whole of the UK. Goes above and beyond for customer satisfaction. Clearly a real asset to the Slug team as he is often seen making everyone laugh and has a general sense of friendliness and displays true commitment to his craft. 10/10.

We got married yesterday, just us, at St Albans Registry Office. We were on a bar crawl just me and my husband when we popped into the Slug & Lettuce for a drink just after 4pm. Out of the 4 empty tables immediately next to the door, 3 had reserved signs on so we sat at the one table that didn't. My husband went to the bar and immediately the manager came up to me to say the table was reserved from 5pm. Fine. At 4.35 we ordered another drink, I was eye balled by the manager which made me feel uncomfortable. At 4.45 he came up to the table to tell us again the table was needed at 5. At 4.40 he came up to us again. My husband asked why other people had arrived and been seated who had not reserved a table and whether we could be moved anywhere if the reservation arrived at 5. Immediately the manager was rude and said 'I told HER it was booked from 5pm'. There was just no need for it.At 4.58, as we were putting our coats on, the manager came over, again, to say the party (of 2) had arrived. We were clearly leaving. The other 3 tables were still empty so we were not sure why this particular table was being treated like it was made from gold.Really turned the mood down and as a result of that one member of staff we will not be returning.

I went into the slug and lettuce St. Albans a few nights ago. Wanted to leave a review mentioning the manager Leanne. She had an amazing attitude towards her job, staff and customers. A rarity in most establishments.

Well what can I say! I love the slug! Dave and caitlin are outstanding!I dont often go out in st Albans but when I do I always book a cheeky table here!You know what you are getting! Good music, lovely cocktails and as I have said great staff!I have been to the S&L in Milton Keynes and London but they have nothing on St Albans!!Thanks S&L we always have the best time!

I literally love this place! The only place I drink in when in St Albans as they always look after me so well! Special shout out to Dave and Caitlin who always make me feel extra welcone! I highly recommend for a cheeky cocktail for two, three or floor!!! 😂

Had a great time last night at the slug, I dont visit St Albans often but always try to do a pit stop here. Special shout out to Kaitlyn for looking after us even when it was busy. See you all soon.

Overpriced but very nice drinks and pretty good atmosphere. Had some confrontation with another customer and there was no bouncer or security working which was surprising and felt quite unsafe as a fight almost broke out.

We were told there would be a 30 minute wait for food and they completely forgot about our order so waited over an hour.Staff weren't that busy but didn't come near our table to see if we needed anything.
