Poor, just really poor.It was my 40th birthday. Thought weād grab lunch to put us on for the day. The outside area was dirty and unkept, had to wipe bird poo from two of our seats. No outdoor service, so we ordered at the bar. Nice indoor bar.Food came and it was just way below average. My five year old looked my plate and said āIs that it?ā. It was hilariousā¦.and completely true. Iāve attached a photo. They forgot to put sauce on the burger, no garnish or salad on the burger/plate and luke warm at best. My wife had a pork sandwich. Bless her, had to take the sandwich apart to take all of the fat off the pork. Inedible.Took my daughter to the disabled toilet. Toilet roll dispenser on the floor, marks all up the walls and the toilet seat in a state of disrepair.I asked for the manager to discuss these things, unfortunately, having waited 25 minutes and eaten my entire meal, he had not come. At the end of the meal, I asked again and he came to discuss. He couldnāt care less. He had no intention of offering a good service or food. This will certainly be my last visit. I literally canāt think of a positive. Just a below average pub with poor food and worse service.

Such a lovely date night here! The food was amazing, the drinks were lovely and the service was better than we could of asked for. We were served by a man called Joseph who could not of looked after us better and we would recommend going here just for his service. We had a starter from the specials called a lamb scrumpet which was mouth watering! Hats off to the chef and run there quickly to get it before itās gone! My partner is planning on going again tomorrow just for the scrumpet and the good guinness. Thanks for making our night Joseph and team!

Excellent food and service. Great selection of wine and some decent ales. Recommend the duck shepherds pie and the beef and ale pie. Good choice of deserts. Very friendly place and would highly recommend. Great food, good environment and reasonably priced.

I hadnāt visited here for maybe 10 years but dropped by for a drink and a rest while out on a Sunday afternoon country walk. Pleased to see that the traditional frontage of the pub remains relatively unchanged, as does the small, attractive bar area. Only two ales on offer at the time but my Greene King IPA was good and the staff were friendly. For the past 15 years this place has focused upon being a gastropub rather than a localsā place, but nevertheless it manages both reasonably well. In addition to the main restaurant at the back there is also a dining room off the bar area where dogs are allowed. The outside has been developed during the past two years into a very attractive, partially covered space. Will definitely return to try the food again.

Popped in here today for brunch with a friend in the weather. Sat outside with my friends lab and the service was beyond exceptional! All the staff were considerate and very very chatty made us and our dog feel welcome!!!The food is exceptional and the menu will leave you coming back many more times as the choices are great! Definitely something for everyone and the best is the PROPER cater for the Gluten Free!!Make your way over, you won't be disappointed. I cannot rave enough about this restaurant.

Been meaning to pop in here for a while and what a treat it was that we did today!Sat outside, were given blankets, hot water bottles, outdoor heaters to make our "stay" more pleasant in this ghastly weather!!!The mulled wine on its own is WELL WORTH the visit. The food is exceptional and the menu will leave you coming back many more times as the choices are great! Definitely something for everyone and the best is the PROPER cater for the Gluten Free!!Service is beyond fantastic!!!Make your way over, you won't be disappointed.Also... Dogs welcome, I mean... what more can one ask!!!!

We made a last minute decision to go to the White Horse having not been for a very long time. It was lovely on a freezing cold night to walk into a warm and cosy atmosphere. The staff were great, we needed a well lit table and they were very happy to accommodate this request. Comfort food was the order of the night and the beef pie really hit the spot.

Good gastropub overall and experience was positive. Food generally tasty and well made. Prices quite steep for relatively small portions.Baked camembert spot on with crusty bread, King prawns disappointing with just 4 prawns on a bit of salad, steak was medium rare and was not asked when ordering how I wanted it, which was a let down. Nevertheless flavour was good. Turkey tasted slightly funny. Dessert chocolate cheesecake was excellent.Service was quite slow but friendly.
