Lovely big place with a lot of history I imagine with pleasant and helpful staff. It's just a shame about the food. The wrap was short on halloumi and the classic burger was dry and tasteless the roll it came in was hard and the fries below average. It maybe cheap eats but just awful.

Had to wait 30 minutes for a cold breakfast, not properly cooked, we where very disappointed with the quality, I recommend no one to get breakfast there, understaffed and dirty everywhere, took forever to clean the tables for new customers. When our drinks came she left it on the table and didn’t give it out and walked away. Not going there again!

I haven’t visited this pub for years, and probably only a couple of times previously. It’s easy to snobbishly dismiss Wetherspoons’ pubs, plus the chain owner doesn’t get good press. Nevertheless they do what they do very well!Like most Wetherspoons’ premises this is a spacious, stylish building. You won’t find a longer bar and bigger range of beers/ales/lager in St Albans, and at the cheapest prices. Also a large, covered area outside for smokers.I was impressed by the latest additions to the bar, including Leffe Blonde at £3.49. Clearly the busiest pub locally on a Tuesday evening in early February.I’m not enticed by either the choice/look of the food but you can’t argue with a successful business model.

Great wetherspoons very big with loads of seating. Great staff quick service and the food here was very good

Overall good pub and restaurant, good staff, they do look after you. However, all that said, they asked me to remove my hat yet I see several people wearing hats upon entering, yet no one’s asking them to remove theirs? I literally had to tell the guy that asked me to remove mine about another person wearing a hat indoors - this is why I give it only a 3 star review. Not only that, these customers continue to wear their hats throughout their visit. Yet I’m not allowed to wear mine?Otherwise it’s just good for food and drinks and meeting up with friends.NB: Not sure I’ll be returning to this place again…

Extremely pleaeent ambience with the high cieling and wooden beams. The food was unusably tasty hot and fast to the table. My arms did not stick to the tables here and the whole place look impeccably clean and staffed with adults. Will most definitely be coming back here soon.

All wetherspoon are impressive big diferent, warm, comfort. I love it, and they put on my table the best wings I have never tried in any wetherspoon

We have been several times to Waterend Barn as it is a lovely pub however, on this occasion, it was very disappointing. The menu was very minimal with very little to choose from. We took some friends for the first time to experience the pub with the fires going in the fireplaces. They liked the location but were let down by the fact that they had to order what they were not looking to eat that afternoon.

It's a nice pub but lacks the atmosphere of the other Wetherspoons I have been in

This curry sauce is an extra £2.00? Lifted a chip up and it’s literally what you see on the top right there in that picture, there’s no sauce underneath at all. You get more for £1.00 from a chip shop.. kitchen also refused to add any more and said that is the portion size of the curry they serve? Gordon Ramsey would have a field day here. This isn’t the first issue we’ve had here either. But I won’t get into that.
