Cupcake I brought tasted really stale and like it had been left out for a while. Very disappointing. One of my least favourite wenzel purchases.

Really hit and miss with this place, sometimes the food tastes delicious and fresh, other times it’s not, last time I bought a chicken baguette, it was the only thing I had ate that day, and it gave me an upset stomach for days!Staff are nice, please just check the quality of food that you sell though. Thanks

Jamaican vegan pasty is great. Steak slice is good. Sausage roll is a bit salty. Delivery will take around 30mins, taking much longer than Pret.

Food always great from here! The bread, whether it’s for a sandwich or a full loaf is always soft and fresh. Even on ordering delivery, the bread is still warm, so it’s freshly baked.Great selection of food and surprising amount of hot food, including pizza. Always delivered and served with friendliness and care.People saying the meal deal is expensive aren’t noting the fact the meal deal is huge. Even the bloomer sandwiches are very big and packed with fillings — you’re getting what you pay for.Always happy to return!

Great store in general, not very much to complain about. Meal deal is a little expensive, but nevertheless very nice. Bakery products are good. Atmosphere is positive. The queuing is not the best, but there are usually not too many people for it to be a problem.

I have lived and worked in the area for 20+ years, so have absolutely “been there and done that” as far as lunch in St Albans is concerned.Wenzel’s is now my absolutely favourite, and I find myself picking up a baguette or wrap almost daily. Nowhere else comes close to the quality on offer here.My personal recommendation is the southern fried chicken and mozzarella wrap. Be sure to ask for it heated, so you get that scrumptious melted cheese experience.

Very nice bakery. Staff is lovely and Agata manager too. Been served by her, always smiling and good customer service. Shes very helpfull all the time Really reccomended this bakery . All food is fresh and they have good choice of halal products.

Sugar overload.I get that cakes have to have sugar and often quite a bit but the caramel shortbread and french fancy we bought tasted like corn syrup and it was actually painful for my teeth! The shortbreads i buy in Aldi for 20% of the price tastes much better. Not impressed with the pastries or sandwiches either.

Lovely staff and service. Not expensive. Not contrived (like the West Cornwall pasty company) just high quality stuff to buy and eat. Woo hoo! Just ignore the ugly branding and bizarre font choices. Keep your eyes shut until you get inside. Note to Wenzels: hire a designer.Went again today just to double-confirm. The best cheese and onion pasty currently available anywhere. Lovely looking alternatives too and low low prices. Definitely recommended.
