Zizzi - St Albans in St Albans

Service was terrible. I had to go in search of my own cutlery.Lasagna was dry and inedible. Barely any apology.Toilets were dirty.Thos of us who had the chicken had stomach ache all night.not going again.

Fantastic food and great service. Good portion sizes and stuffed after starter and main. Shame there’s no draught beers but you can’t have everything!I had the calamari and prawn linguine and could hardly walk afterward. My brothers in law ordered the calzone and egg and bacon pizza and it was the size of the surfboard! Top marks. Please see photos

My husband and I visited Zizzi in St Albans yesterday evening. Straight away as we felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere. It was a rather busy night so we had to we had to wait a few minutes but it wasn't too long.We loved the 'speedy order' app, it meant that we could order the food we wanted without any pressure, and we were able to use the app to pay quickly at the end. However there was also the option to order the traditional way for those who prefer to.Firstly for starters, I ordered the calamari and my husband chose the Beef brisket & mozzarella arancini. Both tasted delicious at first but after a few bites of the calamari the salty taste became overwhelming so I couldn't finish mine, I feel like it was over seasoned with salt.At this point we asked for a glass of water as our wine wouldn't wash the salty taste. We were told that it would be a minute so we waited.Next for the mains we ordered the calzone carne piccante and the casareccia pollo piccante. Both were very delicious and were full of flavour.Again we ask for a glass of water.Lastly we ordered the salted honey, raspberry and pistachio cheesecake, one each for the both of us. It was very yummy, but I was already getting full so I unfortunately couldn't finish it all.I really could have used a glass of water here but it didn't come. So we paid and left.Overall it was a lovely experience, and would have been 5 stars however I feel like the fact that our water didn't arrive at all after asking twice had let them down. So it's a 4 stars from me!

Staff member was rude and unhelpful. All I wanted to know was whether their set menu could be ordered separately. In the end I didn't order anything as a result and only stayed as my friends had ordered. My friends said the lasagna was too salty and the beef ribs were dry and chewy and I had made a wise choice not to bother. Mocktails they do are nice, but I won't go again.

Visited St. Albans Branch on 19th January with my wife & really wish I hadn't. Nobody, including staff were wearing masks. Our table was greasy & I had to ask for it to be wiped. The food was AWFUL. My starters of calamari was limp, tepid & tasteless my wife had arancini which were also tasteless, the bowl which it was served in was greasy & again we asked for the table to be wiped. Without going into full detail of the whole meal it is probably best to just say we will NEVER return. The service was dreadful, not once were we asked if everything was OK even when a hardly touched pudding was taken away. They failed to ask if we wanted water or another bottle of wine even though we placed it upside down in the ice bucket. We were served by a lady with long dark hair & a green check jacket who we found to demonstrate a surly attitude. We rather got the impression the restaurant wasn't as clean as it could have been sighting food under tables etc. When we left we both noticed our clothes felt damp!!! Such a shame to report this as we, prior to covid, often used this restaurant. To reiterate, this is the last time we will ever, even if under new management, will use this restaurant especially as St. Albans has so many others to choose from. Obviously, Zizzi are not worried about impressing customers especially after they must have lost so much money during lockdown.

Only ever been to the Zizzi's in Watford before today, before they closed down. Not that it wasn't ok but it certainly wasn't up to the standard of the St Albans Zizzi's!The service was 10/10.The food was 10/10.It's a bit of a trek for us to drive to St Albans from Watford but as it's our sprogs favourite place to eat we'll definitely be coming again.

A good cozy space for a coffee or sparkling.. Pizza is baked infont of you in the oven. Staff is very courteous. Just beside the famous clock tower in the high street.

This used to be a lovely Italian restaurant, however with chilli and hot spices in every dish, the waitress advised I should have the 'bland' margarita pizza. Pizza was good but my husbands pasta dish was awful, extremely salty and appeared to have been previously precooked and reheated, so pasta was dry and chicken mushy. Staff also not trained enough to understand that an allergic reaction would make me very ill and had a dismissive attitude. We will no longer be coming to this restaurant. Poor food quality and service.

Friday night. Not too busy. We were walk in. Friendly service. Good food. Hot and delicious. Staff tried to ensure we were taken care of even though wires got crossed with our order. We used the Zizzi Speedy ordering was easy and efficient.The garlic prawns are delicious! The fondue has changed since it was first launched but still good. The lasagne was piping hot and OH liked it.10/10 and would go back.£41 for two - 2 starters one main, one soft drink, one prosecco and sparkling water. Included tip and rounded up for charity.

Decent place, good staff and good customer service. Order came pretty quickly. I feel that for the prices the portion sizes are quite small however, the lasagna that I got was very flat even tho flavourful. I think the pasta dishes are decent, but i I wouldn't recommend the lasagna. Building inside is very nice and comfortable. Overall, good place to grab dinner/lunch once in a while.
