I live in the mountains of northern Spain and there is one thing that I miss above all and that's a good fish and chips. When I come back to visit family in Essex my first port of call is a chippy.This time I've struck gold.The Claire chip shop has the best home made chips I've had in years and the fish is really good too.There's not much more to say other than that I have visited this oasis of deliciousness three times in the last two weekends and I'll most definitely be back again soon.

Extremely happy with the quality of the food and also the service not to mention value for money! Large rock and chips large battered sausage and chips curry sauce and mushy peas £11??? My previous local was £5 more.

Popped in here for the first time ever on saturday and wow what a beautiful likkle shop, the ladies serving were lovely and even though they were battling the extreme heat they still had lovely welcoming smiles for us, and I have to say these were probably the best chips I've ever tried.... I will be back even though I have to travel from Haverhill to get there they are worth it !!! 😋 xxxxxxxx

I drive about 12 miles specifically to visit the fish and chip shop in Clare it is that good. Can't praise it highly enough. Only minor complaint is that because it's so popular you might have a bit of a wait. But it's worth it!
