Ixworth Chinese Takeaway in St Edmundsbury

Staggeringly, heroically awful. Almost incomprehensibly bad. We ordered 3 dishes from all over the menu plus 1/2 duck. The three pots of food that materialized were identical: a thick gloop of corn flour (?), frozen and recently de thawed (and still almost cold) meat, commercial grade frozen veg. And precisely zero flavour. The only taste was a strange anodyne residue of grease. Nasty and slimy. No spice or even broth. The duck was equally bizarre; a deep fried and unsliced chunk of greasy gristle. Astonishingly bad food. You actually can tell from the waiting room: there is a strong greasy smell but no whiff of Chinese flavour or spice. Was going to give to the dogs but thought better if it. Go elsewhere if I were you.

It's an absolute delight to visit here! The staff are warm, courteous, and friendly, and the food is sublime! :-)

Absolutely delightful Chinese this evening, everything was fresh hot and flavourful, 7 very happy bellys afterwards, really chuffed to have such a good Chinese take away in the village!

Yummy food. A bit pricey for slightly smaller portions but worth it.Personally not a fan of the fat being left on in the duck chow mein. Other than that, absolutely delicious! Just wanted more duck meat!

Had the chicken curry same price as other Chinese’s but no rice included. Curry was a bit on the watery side and bulked our with that traditional Chinese veg of carrot.Chicken ball were good with the half duck and pancake rolls. With most Chinese would find a chip shop for chips rather then there ones. Ok in a pinch if you stuck there are better in the area. As for best in the UK not eaten in the whole of the uk but would nah not even close to best in county

Always eat from here whenever we come home to Suffolk. One of the best take aways I have ever used. Never had a bad meal.

The best Chinese takeaway around by far. Lovely staff, clear and consistent menu's with a huge range of choices. The food itself is lush. Highyl recommend this one over other local restaurants.
