Pilgrims' Kitchen in St Edmundsbury

Went here for a late breakfast.Friendly staff, bright, clean and spacious environment with comfortable seating.Lovely food and at a reasonable price.

Unusually, only an ok meal. Bread with the soup was a bit stale and I had the strangest coronation chicken with my jacket potato.

Very good food at reasonable priced. Plenty of seating. Friendly staff and extensive menu.

A lovely setting good seating area in side and out. We only stopped for coffee but the I saw being served looked appetising and good value

Beautiful setting hidden away to the side of the abbey gardens. Very busy at the time of our visit (lunchtime on a week day), but plenty of staff on hand. Outdoor furniture has seen better days, but otherwise very nice spot.

Very good food here ! I have had breakfasts and lunches here. The food appears to be actually prepared here and not prepared at a factory. A choice of indoor and outdoor seating. A superb quite oasis virtually in the centre of town !

Lovely peaceful atmosphere. Nice to lunch in a 'non-corporate' setting. Would be impossible not to find something to tickle your fancy from the menu. The Pilgrims Rarebit and Bacon was excellent.

I had breakfast in Pilgrims Kitchen. Toasted cheese sandwich. It came with some plain crisps, coleslaw and some salad. Had hot water to wash down my breakfast.Lovely surrounding. Clean. Friendly staff. Social distancing followed.Toilet only one. The rest was sealed off.There was seats outside for customers to have their meal. Price was reasonable.Well worth a breakfast . 👍😊

Fast service and great food in a comfortable relaxed atmosphere. I had the pilgrims rarebit and it was well presented and with perfectly balanced flavours. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit and will be back soon.

# Pilgrims Kitchen, St Edmundsbury CathedralI have to say that the entrance to this place is a bit daunting! Enter through the herb garden, disturbing the squirrels as you miander through and head into the stone corridor. You're greated with a menu board showing what they offer and a huge wooden door. Have the courage to push on the door and you'll be pleasantly surprised!A big, bright, airy space opens out in front of you and your eyes are immediately drawn to the huge selection of cakes and treats that are on display.Needless to say that the cheese scones were first on my choice list but I also felt in the mood for a brownie. I had a large cappuccino (which, compared to most places, would come as a medium) but they only do semi-skimmed milk, which is ok but it just means I have to exercise more afterwards!Coffee was good and nice and hot. Well made too.Scone was a bit heavy going but nice enough. I did need two butter portions though so it was a bit dry.Brownie tasted good.Staff are friendly and there's a hot guy clearing tables and taking hot food out to customers.It's mostly older people that are in here but that's a good thing. No screaming children at the moment!WiFi is free and no registration required. Probably best to use a VPN though (if you're not already!)There are mostly tables and chairs here but there are a couple of sofas at each diagonal corner so it's relatively comfortable. In terms of value for money, it's good..
