Really lovely meal! Got a cosy table in the corner, service was just right (not too slow, not too fast). Had a decent mocktail selection for me (pictured: the Abbey Garden alcohol free) and great gins for the other half who does drink. Food was delicious. Garlic prawn nibbles were impressive! Atmosphere lovely, busy little restaurant and great views of the Abbey opposite. Will definitely try it again!

This is the second time we have gone to The Eaterie @ The Angel Hotel for the early set price dinner. The restaurant is beautiful, and if you can, go a little early for a drink in the bar, which is very lively and fun. It feels like you are having a staycation in a big city. No matter what we order, the food is beautifully presented and delicious. And it is an amazing value. The staff is friendly, attentive and professional. Whether for a special occasion or date night, we would highly recommend The Eaterie. We are looking forward to our next visit.

We have eaten and had drinks at The Angel before and always enjoyed it. Luckily managed to get a booking for the Supper Club. The atmosphere and staff were fantastic and the food and cocktails were superb! Hoping to go again next time.

Went to The Eaterie @ The Angel for an early dinner, set menu. The location is great and the decor is well worth having a coffee by the fireplace.Staff were amazing, smiling and professional. 5* for them.Unfortunately the food was less than a 5* experience. Decent size portions, and a lovely carrot soup were not enough to make it up for the dried slices of pork rump meat from the main, or the bland coconut dessert. The location is great for a drink in a nice setting, however I would think twice before ordering food.

We stayed during Christmas from the room being ready early to the food could not fault anything. All the staff were very friendly from booking meals in the lounge to parking our car and taking care of the luggage nothing was too much trouble. The location is a good point too as the town walking distance has some very niche shops. All our meals were served in the lounge area meaning our springer spaniel could join us at all times. We have stayed at the Angel several times and have never been disappointed.Lastly The Angel really is a top hotel.

Afternoon festive tea, very enjoyable excellent service. If I have to be picky we sat down at 2 but didn't recieve our afternoon tea till 2.55. However they were very busy, and it didn't stop us having an lovely afternoon. Will be visiting again.

·

Great location to visit The Cathedral, Abbey Gardens and only a short taxi or 10 minute walk to The Apex venue which is why we visited. The hotel was really lovely and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

·

Very friendly staff, interesting decor and tasty food. We both had quail which was lovely with the sweet corn and sweet potato. Then shared the Tipsy cake for pudding.

One of my favorite spots in Suffolk, excellent cuisine and modern redesign of the restaurant keeps me coming back. The bar is also just as amazing for a great cocktail after the meal! Or to hang out in the lounge with some cream teas... I just love this place.
