An old pub within easy walking distance of the town centre. Friendly staff, a good range of beers and a good menu add to the appeal. In good weather there is an outdoor seating area to the rear. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Parking for those staying at the pub is situated to the rear.

Had the best time here. So many places say they are dog friendly but I've never been somewhere my dog has been treated with such affection by the staff. He got a drink before I did, and some treats too. Such a lovely touch. The lady behind the bar was charming and friendly. Drinks were cold, food was hot at the atmosphere was delightful. What more can you ask of a British Pub!

The place was very nice large pub with outside garden. The staff were very friendly we ordered the steak ale pie..they did say it wasn't homemade but was very good. It came with mash and cabbage the pie filling was lovely but the pastry was hard and difficult even to cut. It really let the filling down. We did let the waitress know when she asked it all was OK as if you don't provide feedback things won't change. On the plus side it was less calories! We would go back for sure though but not pick that dish again!

We had a lovely family meal several of our party were staying here.Food was ordered several days in advance. Was delicious only 4 stars because we sat down at 8 ate our food table clear wasn't done for ages after eating several of our group wanted puddings when we went to order but told kitchen closed at 10....no warning this was going to happen several unhappy people

Food wasn’t the best. My chicken wasn’t cooked all the way through in my burger. The veg for the Sunday roast looked dry and a bit off. The time waiting for a drink or food was much longer than you would normally wait. Don’t think I will go again for food

We had a lovely time staying at the Dog and Partridge. Our room was on the top floor, it was spacious and clean, including a good sized bed which was very comfortable! In our room was a separate chair and table and a dressing table too. Tea and coffee making facilities were available and refreshed regularly. The shower was huge and an absolute joy, although did get a little slippery so something to be careful of - bath and shower mats were available from reception. The toilet seat and toilet roll holder were a little wobbly, they could have done with tightening up. Overall the room was refreshing and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. We had breakfast here too, although the gas was off on the first morning which didn't leave much choice for breakfast however, the staff handled this very well and a discount was offered. Food was available later that day, obviously we had to sample some, needless to say we weren't disappointed! I would highly recommend the mac and cheese with added bacon! Overall this was a very enjoyable stay, the room and hotel as a whole was very clean and welcoming. Staff were friendly and more than happy to help - special shout out to Josh, his accent was amazing, he was very friendly and helpful and all round a very good waiter! Would recommend staying at this hotel.

Dropped in for a Sunday roast the other week. The fact I can still remember is testimony the impression it left.Service was first rate, both the man behind the bar and the lady serving to our table gave the kind of natural relaxed service that is so quintessentially English pub. Friendly, attentive and polite. The food came out in good time and hit the spot. My wife went for the veg option and liked it so much I was trying to steal it off her plate!!We had our two young children with us and the pub had everything we needed including, safe high chair, colouring in book and crayons and proper children menu. The beer was also fantastic but being directly opposite the brewery you would not expect anything less than a perfect pint and they deliver.Next time I go, I will be booking as I have a feeling we were just lucky there was a table available that time.

Came with my family this evening. Not only was the food outstanding, presented so well and belly filling. The staff were amazing, friendly, welcoming and efficient! But Josh made our evening!! We left full and impressed and little guy even came home with left over chicken wings for lunch tomorrow 😉We will definitely be back! Thanks so much for an amazing evening!

Fantastic and hugely generous pub grub. I was overwhelmed by the portion size of their new dish of different flavours of chicken. Delicious and enough for four!
