We dropped in for a light lunch and both had lovely fishfinger sandwiches. There was a warm welcome when we arrived and were looked after really well without being imposed upon. Definitely worth a visit. No photos unfortunately as we were too busy enjoying the lovely food!

No space inside, but we were given the option to sit outside in the covered courtyard, there are heaters so it was pretty comfortable. There was a bit of a wait for food, but we were there at lunch time so a busy time of day. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and although they don't have a kids menu they were very accommodating to my son's request. Will definitely go again.

We had an amazing family dinner today! The food left us speechless with the surprisingly unbelievable taste and quality. We loved the place and the staff really joyful snd helpful people! Will definitely go back!

Enjoyed a great pint in there this weekend but my fourth pint was clearly flat. When I ask staff the change it they simply refused? Customer service clearly not a priority and sadly another customer lost.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere and very clean. My husband and I ordered homemade fish pie and steak and ale pie, both very yummy. Staff all very good making sure everything was ok. We will definitely be visiting again. Xxx

Nice pub, lovely covered courtyard with heaters, and good choice of background music, never heard Calypso Rose in a pub before, excellent!Tried the food on our second visit, soooo good. Great flavour combinations and good portion size. All the staff we met were friendly, helpful and made us feel at home. Highly recommended.

Fantastic pub that we discovered while in Bury on holiday. Food was really good and reasonably priced-calamari, mac n cheese and burger were all tasty, as were the choc sponge and choc fudge cake. Staff really nice, husband had a taste of local beer. Pub itself really historic-beams etc and a nice courtyard at back. Would definitely recommend!

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here. We called up only about 40 mins before and they sorted out with a table which was great. When we arrived they were able to seat us outside in the courtyard... even better! Food, drink and all aspects of service taken care of very well by the staff here who were all warm and engaging. They even sorted out a taxi for us when we couldn’t get hold of one. They offered to help despite being busy, and in doing so resolved a a massive headache for us as we’d have been unable to get back to the nearby Rougham Airfield for the flight home (every taxi firm was fully booked!). Nothing was too much trouble for the team here and we really appreciated this. I’ve focussed on the exceptional service but I should point out the food was delicious too with a very generous portion of roast lamb!

A warm, welcoming pub in the heart of Bury St. Edmunds. The building itself dates back to the 16th century and is a pleasure to visit.Didn't try the food, but staff knew what was on offer and were happy to give some guidance. They were also friendly and attentive.Pub was clean with strong consideration for COVID standards. Thanks!
