Booked at very short notice. Didn't know what to expect, but, my word, the food and service was exceptional! I had a southern fried chicken burger and skinny fries, my sister had lamb shank with mashed potato and gravy (from special board) and husband had beef roast dinner (it was a Sunday). We also shared some side dishes which included mozeralla sticks, sizzling prawns and hot jalapeños. Everything was absolutely brilliant. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding, biscotti cheesecake and apple pie. The atmosphere in the pub was so friendly, relaxed and welcoming. The service and all of the staff were thoroughly brilliant. We will definitely be returning soon and recommend it highly.

I took my mum here for lunch. Super attentive service from the owner, excellent pub food (try the quiche) and the coffee is really lovely. All in all good value and a pleasant experience. 🙂

Nice little pub out of city center. Can easily walk from town, but plenty of parking. Pool and darts, lovely lanlord.

Nice old building, looking nice inside. No NHS tracking though. We were in a beach hut, which could be better themed, bit plastic and needs finishing off. Food was ok, nothing special. They do cater for gluten free with the burgers and sandwiches, which is a plus.

We've wanted to try this pub for ages and it didn't disappoint. I had quiche and my fiancee had a hot beef sandwich. Staff were friendly, food was really yummy.

Excellent evening at the Woolpack watching the half cut theatre company. CV19 regulations observed really well. Nice BBQ and lovely pub garden.

Called in for lunch with my mum on a Thursday, not too crowded so no trouble getting a table. Friendly service from the staff and only a short wait for our food to arrive.I had the butternut squash tart and chips which was great - the pastry was especially good. Nice pint of Abbot. Mum had the pork belly with new potatoes, also good but she did need to request a steak knife to get to the bottom of it! The meat was really tender though and she enjoyed it.Not mum's first time there and I'd certainly make a return visit too.
