The Fish & Chip Shop in Stevenage

Just passing thru town and came across by chance. Glad I did, beautifully cooked fish and chips and friendly staff. I know where to come the next time I'm in the area.

Has to be one of the best chip shops in Stevenage. I’ve never had a bad meal from here. I always recommend this chip shop to anyone that’s visiting Stevenage.

The fish and chips were outstanding first time trying them,will only eat here in future,staff very friendly, great portion sizes.

Great fish and chips, has some other more exotic things in the fryer if you want to push the boat out a bit

Awesome quality, crispy chips, succulent fish and huge portions. Also offer gluten free items, but don't leave it too late - they can run out.

Just had a cod and chips from here and it has to be the best I have had for ages. Cod was thick and meaty with great flavour and chips were all a good size and crispy outside soft and fluffy inside. Not used this chippy for a while,but I will be back. Thanks.

Super fast, fresh chips, and I love their giant fish fingers.Being a fish and chip fan - this is the best place in South East England.

Good service, prices and the fish and chips are tasty, not the best I've had but definitely up there. Also good that they have gluten free options which I availed of on my visit. I do recommend!

After reading plenty of reviews in deciding where to grab some food tonight, I plumped for The Fish and Chip Shop as it seemed I was destined for a great meal guaranteed. Well I have to say that this was anything but....I ordered a small cod, medium chips, saveloy and curry sauce. Slightly soggy and very average chips were accompanied by a fish that was enveloped in the worst batter I've ever had from a chip shop! Flavourless, soggy and undercooked is the only way to describe it. The curry sauce was standard chip shop fodder so that only leaves the saveloy. This was decent and the only reason for the second star as I've been to some chip shops that can't even get that right!Overall a big disappointment and I definitely won't be returning next time I'm in the area...

Very helpful and friendly staff and the fish and chips are absolutely bang-on they are fresh and crispy and the batter isn't only as you'd find in other places and chips were the best I've had in a very long time, they make it from special potatoes. Portions are very good. The seating area is tiny but plenty of vinegar and salt to enjoy your fish and chips
