Great pub under Deben Inns management now. Sensible menu with interesting choices. Coupled with excellent service this pub makes a great venue for meeting friends and family. It was good to return to it and see it doing so well!

We had sandwiches that were very poor, bread didn't taste fresh & hot roast beef was one thin slice that was a quarter fat & gristle. We informed 'front of house' who said she would let the chef knowWe paid in full & when asked was all ok we said, not great. No apology at any stage.Would never return

·

Lovely waiting staff, bar staff were a bit grumpy but then it was very busy. Food was expensive for what it was. Would I go again? Yes I would given the location and garden

Enjoyed a fantastic meal here. Lovely good quality home cooked fresh food in relaxed atmosphere. Good service too. Very pleasant evening. Would happily return if in the area.

Great place to stay. Great food and drinks to be had. Very pleasant staff. Superbly presented and cared for rooms. AND what a very special place Thorpeness is. Highly Recommend and hope to stay again in the not too distant future.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, lovely food and dog friendly! Four of us (and our dog) came for Sunday roast and crumble yesterday and we couldn’t fault it. I would recommend booking as they were very busy and most tables were reserved, but luckily we had booked our table in advance. We will definitely be back!

Visited the Dolphin Inn during my stay in Thorpeness and I can honestly say I wouldn’t of wanted anything more, the staff went above and beyond for me and my girlfriend.I ordered grilled cod, I’m not much of a fish lover but I thought I’d give it a try, the cod was cooked really well and the sides that it came with complimented the dish very well. My girlfriend ordered a pork dish which she was very impressed with, my only negative feedback about the meal was that the fish had too many bones for my liking (personal preference). The staff are lovely, they made us feel right at home with service that no one could complain at, service with a smile. The locals who were in the bar area drinking were very welcoming and made us chuckle, will definitely be coming back for another meal.

Excellent customer service. Great food. Fish pie was wonderful and very filling. Only slight negatives are a 10pm weekday closing time and it's the pricier end of the pub market

·

Cosy and comfortable rooms and overall vibe. Very friendly staff and the food is really high quality with generous portions. The breakfast menu is incredible and you definitely not need lunch if you go for the eggs and smoked salmon or full English. Dog friendly.

Nice friendly atmosphere, staff very helpful. However disappointed in roast meal. Roast potatoes were not crisp at all, soft boiled potatoes tossed in oil. Also dessert crumble was incorrectly labelled as apple, pear, mixed fruit. Actually mixed fruit was dried mixed fruit as used in cakes. Will try again on a weekday when not so busy to check out food again. Was very busy so maybe staff in kitchen were overwhelmed.
