It was first time and last at this place. The interior looks really promising. Nicely decorated and authentic. However, service not that good and food even worse. Gravy running like water. Very basic roast. We had started and main and finished with a dessert from the shop as it was no worth to even try that. We usually full after main, however, it wasn't filling at all. 2 other tables have been complaining while we had our dinner.Ps. 6 little prawn starter was £10. Just noticed that it should of been king prawns. Must be a joke.

Made an impromptu visit this evening with my daughter for a meal (not locals, but on holiday). We were told there would be a slight wait for food due to staff shortage (if we didn't mind waiting). Food was ordered and we in fact did not wait very long despite there being a few customers. The sharing camembert was cooked to perfection (sorry no picture as too excited to eat), we both had the Chicken & smoked pancetta pie with veg a jug of gravy was cheerfully produced when asked for as an extra. Thank you to the staff Emma and Hayley you both made our evening a great experience. Fully recommend this excellent establishment and look forward to visiting when next in the area.

We went for a family meal but was disappointed. The staff were helpful and polite but the food was not good quality. Our gravy smelt burnt (like an ash tray) so some of our meals were taken back and replaced which meant we didn't all eat together. Not a good experience and wouldn't recommend which is a shame because this used to be one of our favourite places to go.

Scallops and king prawn starter at £9.50 after 1hr 15 minute wait must say felt completely underwellemed. Staff not attentive. Waiting 50 minutes for a drink. Evening saved only thanks to Ellie well done you.

Booked a table fairly last minute for 8 people on a Sunday evening and had absolutely no problems. The atmosphere and decor is amazing and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious, we especially enjoyed the mushroom starter and the schnitzel. We will definitely be back when we're in the area again!

First time to dine in this Vintage Inn pub and we were very impressed 👌🏼 service and atmosphere was very welcoming; food is a solid 10/10 !! Definitely coming back again to The Duke of York soon!

So I booked for a Sunday lunch here today. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The pub itself was very well arranged and clean but I was disappointed with the quality of the meal not that I complained at the time. I had the roast and found that the broccoli and Sprouts were undercooked and not peeled and the meagre 4 small pieces of lamb I was served were predominantly fatty. In all fairness I did eat most of the meal (not the raw veg) as I was super hungry. On this occasion I would give the food a 5/10 and would not recommend it to my friends. Shame as it appears to be a very nice venue.

Excellent food, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only criticism that I have is that the vegetarian options were just about non existant and in this day and age with everywhere fighting for customers it's an extremely poor showing indeed. Need to do better.

We had a lovely meal here for my birthday, we chose this pub purely by the look of it from the outside. It's lovely inside too with open fires and is very welcoming. The staff were lovely and very helpful and the food was good. I would highly recommend this pub. We would have booked Christmas lunch here had it not been a bit too far for us to travel on Christmas day.

Chefs got the steak wrong twice. Ordered 10oz Ribeye medium rare and it came out blue. Politely asked for the steak to be returned to the hot plate and it still came back blue. Onion rings were cremated but the chips were spot on. Ended up eating after everyone else finished their main which was disappointing. All the other dishes came out excellent, the pub is beautiful and the staff friendly and I have to admit this is the first time I have had any issues here.
