Best fish and chips around! Started coming back to J's about a month ago, been in 3 times since including today. The batter is perfect and crisp, not too oily or heavy. Chips are nice and crisp and meals have been consistently good. Staff are very friendly and efficient. Good job guys!

1st 2 visits were very good indeed. Good size portions and fish and chips cooked to perfection. 3rd visit just before closing not do good. Batter on both fish soft and soggy and chips overcooked. 1st visit I did have to wait 25 mins despite pre ordering...Hoping the next visit is better.

Good size portions. Been coming here for many years.Updated review. Food still great. Service lately has gone down a little. Young lads and girls more interested in flirting between themselves than serving. Hopefully will return to the great service they used to have.

For the most part it's lovely just wish when ordering fish it was left to drain instead of what seems to be just put in with the chips as the grease that drip saturates the chips. Hit and miss on portion sizes aswell. But on the whole it's a lovely busy chip shop

Our first time eating from J's, pre ordered two haddock and chips but unfortunately due to lack of communication our fish was sold to someone else. We were offered one haddock and a cod or plaice. We asked for cod. Guess what?? When we arrived home we had plaice. Batter was soggy and chips were huge. We will not be eating from J's again.
