Really good food overlooking the lake where people where rowing and other people milling around creating a great atmosphere. Recommend.

·

Lovely carrot cake with a latte, ducks and geese galore on the pond and lake.Too rainy to take a rowing boat out but still very enjoyable.Friendly service .

·

Good cafe with wonderful view of the lake and various wildlife. Good selection of cakes and sandwiches.

·

Order at the window, Sit outside. Some seating indoors i guess for the colder wetter days?Hot or cold drinks, sandwiches or hot food available. Due to covid stock of gifts etc has disappeared.

·

Nice little place. Still serving from the kiosk. Speedy service. Yorkshire Tea and nice selection of cakes.

We go to Thorpeness 2- 3 times a month (only 1.5 - 2 hours away) we always have coffee and breakfast, toasted sandwich, before our 2hr walk. Staff so friendly, food really nice. Hopefully when covid allows more items will be available on menu. Till then... for us...its 100%

We were glad to be able to sit in as it was cold and wet outside. We initially thought there was only a take away service from the hatch. Inside, it was pleasant to sit and watch the birds on the Meare. No crockery inside for our lunch which was disappointing for us but the food was acceptable if plain (panninis with no salad , rather beige!) Coffee also in disposable cups but my cappachino was nice and it was a decent size cup. The staff were pleasant. We was very impressed with the take away containers both the cup and food tray were biodegradable, a close second to crockery in these strange COVID times.

A beautiful place to stop for a coffee or icecream. We did a walking route from Aldeburgh to Thorpness and back and this was a beautiful spot to pause after seeing the house in the clouds. One can also rent a rowing boat to take round the Meare although we didn't on this occasion. Highly recommend the icecream!Edit: Went back again a couple of days later to take a rowing boat out and more Icecream. 5 star rating unaffected! Beautiful spot.

A really lovely location for a cuppa and a bite to eat on the edge of Thorpeness Mere. Just 5 minutes from the beach. Horsedrawn tours of the quirky village of Thorpness and the Benjamin Brittain memorial leave from the front door. Food is good and locally sourced. Service can be patchy and food service ends quite early but location is hard to beat.

Great choice on menu. Perfect sitting outside on a sunny day, but plenty of seating inside. Good service ..we didn't have to wait too long. Can recommend the home made quiche.. all individually made with lovely fillings. They serve main meals and snacks. Delicious cakes ,some gluten free. Very good pot of tea. We got free entertainment watching the swans and goslings and ducks and geese and the people taking rowing boats out ! Would highly recommend. Very relaxing.
