Old Chequers Inn in Suffolk Coastal

We had a very successful family gathering at the Old Chequers on 12th March this year. Landlady Carol couldn't have done more to accommodate us. She was brilliant! The whole event, the organisation of the lunch etc was perfect. The meal we had, 3 courses, a la carte and pre ordered, was very high standard and delicious. Thank you all at the pub for making our day so special.

Very good meal served with a lovely smile,very nice owners, friendly and chatty you won't forget the experience.

Now, this is a really great pub. But it's not just a pub, it's a lovely, warm, inviting place serving really great food with a menu of a wide choice. On our lunch visit it was very well cooked and presented and provided promptly. The owners were perfect hosts and the service was great. You definitely should give it a try and if you need somewhere to eat prior to visiting Snape, this is the place.

My friend and I went for a pre-christmas lunch, the hosts were really very accommodating and food was fantastic, so much to choose from as well, also my friend has some intolerances and they were very helpful nothing was too much trouble it was an absolute pleasure, lovely atmosphere log burner, comfy chairs all the things that you would imagine to be fabulous will be going again

Fantastic Sunday Lunch. Prawn Cocktail to start, traditional Roast Beef with Yorkshires, Veg and Roast potatoes and a sticky toffee pudding to close. Great quality, fair pricing and great welcome from the staff. Highly recommend!!!

I've been to the chequers twice and both occasions have had fabulous service. The most recent occasion was a last minute call when we were down the road for some lunch. The staff were more than happy to accommodate myself and my partner plus our dog! The food was served quickly and was excellent and both my fish dish and my partners crab dish, were so fresh. We will make it a regular occurance to visit when we go to Aldeburgh in the future. Many thanks for your great service.

Stayed in the village for a 2 week break and booked lunch 3 times during our stay. The food was excellent, the owners and staff were friendly and welcoming and even 'Lucy' the dog was at the door waiting to see who arrived. The whole dining experience was first class.

Very welcoming hosts, comfortable pleasant surroundings, good selection of dishes and delicious food. Would certainly go again if in the area and recommend to others
