Pump Street Bakery in Suffolk Coastal

Delicious, carefully crafted foods and treats. Sweet and savoury, hot and cold drinks. I had a superb individual quiche with mushroom, feta and thyme. The girls had a 70% chocolate brownie which gave the world a short slice of quiet for 20 minutes. Lovely scenic setting. Recommended.

High quality baked goods. Lovely service and superb coffee by Monmouth. A few seatings outside.The bread is excellent and so are the croissants. Their sandwiches are not on display but made to order.They also sell their famous chocolates.Excellent hygiene and social distancing arrangements.The draw back is their limited quantities. Shelves were almost empty, as per the photos, on a Friday at lunch time.

Great spot for a bite to eat and a coffee. Nice and friendly too 🤘

Handy place to get your bread and pastries. People start to queue before they open at 9am. Only doing takeaways at the moment (7/9/21). Lots of people buying takeaway coffees but they work very efficiently.The bread and donuts we had were very good. Tried both the brown sourdough and granary tin loaf.I was tempted by the bacon sandwiches they offer with home made tomato sauce but couldn’t warrant the £6 they were charging, especially as I would have had to buy 4.They don’t open every day (they were closed Monday), so I’d check their website for opening times.

A big reputation to live up to, and they managed it. Lovely service, even in these strange socially distanced days. Baking and coffees more than hit the spot. Pastel de Nata was my favourite, but the quiche and donuts were also very good.

I have wanted to go here for a while and even with my high expectations it exceeded them. The baked goods here are superb. They stand up there with the best of them. The croissant was buttery, flakey, and melt in the mouth. The doughnuts were well stuffed with a fluffy crumb. The cookie was crunchy, chewy, and delicious. But the real winner was the incredible Eccles cake. Dare I say it, the best I have ever had. Even better then the infamous Eccles cake from St John in London (in my opinion). If you are in the area you have to go here.

Delicious cosy place (only a handful of tables in the back). I enjoyed their hot chocolate - they also run a chocolate shop nearby where you should definitely get their sourdough and sea salt chocolate bars!They do "baker's breakfasts and "baker's lunch", and I had the soup of the day (squash) which was lovely. The butter was locally sourced, and raw too... fabulous.

Had breakfast at this lovely bakery many times and it’s absolutely lovely. Prices are a bit expensive but worth the money you pay for. Dishes use their own baked goods and locally sourced food, staff are all friendly and happy to help you, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it all tastes excellent!They make their own chocolate as well as bakery stuffs which is delicious, my personal favourite being the sourdough and sea salt bars!If you’re on a trip of the Suffolk coast this is an excellent spot to visit, only a short few minutes walk or an even shorter drive to the quay. I recommend you add it to your list!

Lovely space, single large table and window seats, great light, fireplace. Many delicious options, pastries to soups to smoothies and of course coffee/tea. Very friendly, quick staff. Seem very good to locals, overhead a "ah, you can pay us anytime" to an old fellow who thought he forget a few pence for his daily loaf. Good healthy options, good vegetarian options.

The baked goods are as delicious as they look. The shop is picture perfect, as if you need an excuse to visit lovely Orford. Shop hours are limited so best to check ahead if you are making a special trip. No gluten free options. Don't miss seasonal favorites like sausage rolls, mince pies, and hot cross buns. But their daily tarts and jam dohnuts are loved by locals as well. There is a small seating area, but on warm days, take your baked goods on the go and enjoy the town and castle grounds. Yes, the coffee and tea are expensive, but if you are price sensitive, the baked goods are still well worth it.
