Shepherd and Dog Inn in Suffolk Coastal

Great pub I spent a week here in 2015 very dog friendly.Will be back next year campsite half a mile away .

We had lunch here on 6th May 2022 , the service was very good and the food was very hot and tasted really good my husband had the steak and I had the vegetable tart , highly recommend

We stayed at a local caravan park and ate 2 dinners and one lunch at the pub, each time accompanied by our dogs. The weather was good enough to sit outside. We don’t eat meat (only fish) and there were several things to choose from. The staff in the pub were really nice and welcoming. The Local beer was great and the wine was very good too.

We stumbled across this place by chance and we are so glad we did. The service was timely and polite, the cask ale lovely and the food was outstanding, I would even go as far as to say it was amongst the best we have had. Compliments to the chef.

We have had an absolutely fabulous meal and time at this pub. Lovely staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Fantastic real ales! We are ex-publicans (owners) and we obviously know the challenges pre and during the Covid pandemic. These guys are the best and deserve all the support they are getting and beyond. We are visitors but will definitely be back! Well done to all! 👍🍻🥂

Nice place to relax after a good walk. Fairly good menu choice, although I would have preferred healthier options. Good plant based choices.I had fish platter - unfortunately everything was fried/ grease laden, salad was lovely and fresh though. Super cup of tea. I'm obviously getting old but I prefer my food on a plate!!

The staff are lovely,tasty food and friendly locals,what's not to like? Oh the beer was great too! Going to come back again!

Tues 31 Aug we had a great pub meal sitting outside, in the gazebo. We were a group of 3 dads, 7 kids, phoned ahead and all eating from the adult menu. The service was really prompt and helpful, the food was great (chunky chips were amazing) - great place for a meal. Would recommend.

Nice little village pub walking distance from our campsite. Have to say my starter and main course tonight were really lovely. Grilled/seared sweet corn and fennel salad and pan fried sea bass with lemon butter caper sauce were both delightful. Friendly owners and dog friendly. A couple even arrived on horseback and tied their horses up out front.At this location and price point it’s a great place for a quality, friendly camp site dinner. Fifth star would be for the staff being a bit more like the owners (who are very helpful and friendly) and a better wine list. Excellent little place - if you like fennel definitely order the starter!!

incredibly impressed. we couldn't get into a nearby more "trendy" pub. So came here instead, the food was excellent and the staff incredibly friendly.
