Shoka Bistro in Suffolk Coastal

Myself and my fiancé enjoyed a celebratory anniversary meal here last night. The restaurant was welcoming and cosy with industrial style decor and quirky artwork for sale on the walls. The staff could not do enough for us as they waited on our every need. We were not left waiting for anything, receiving our drinks very quickly and having our orders taken promptly. The strawberry daiquiri I enjoyed was lovely and refreshing. We both ordered the beef burger which came with beef dripping chips and raclette cheese melted onto the burger at the table which was really impressive. I had my burger well done which I think may have affected the quality due to the meat being slightly dryer after being cooked longer, so would suggest to have the burger pink in future as my partner did and he said it was “delicious”. The highlight for me was the stunning dessert. I ordered the chocolate s’more which was one of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted. Cinnamon sable biscuits which were light and buttery, homemade toasted marshmallow which was sweet and fluffy, rich chocolate ganache and a cherry gel which added an extra level to the dessert. The staff couldn’t have done more to tend to us and I felt everything was very reasonably priced as well. We very much enjoyed our meal here and will definitely be recommending it to friends and family, and returning for future special occasions. Thanks very much for a lovely evening :)

Service was excellent, the waitresses were very attentive and smiled every time they walked past. The food was really nice. We had the five course valentine's menu which was very filling and was presented well. They even gave us a 🌹.

Fantastic food and the service was brilliant from Vlad, he instantly made you feel welcome, allowing us to pick our table and having a joke with us. The food was so good, there was nothing I could possibly give constructive feedback on. Can't wait to go back.

Fabulous meal, lovely staff, and service exceptional. Though we were a large group, all the meals came together, food was fabulous. Have always had great service here, and would highly recommend it.

Very friendly staff, good atmosphere and humongous dessert portion ideal for share 😂 recommend the chips raclette with complementary cheese topping up. Loved the braised beef 👌

Friendly staff and lovely place.We had very delicious starter with unlimited cheese- highly recommend. As well as pork belly and sirloin steak. Amazing desserts and warm expirience Worth coming back.

Place with character. Some sitting areas outside and inside. Lots of paintings, which are for sale too. If you are lucky you can get a table with a view to the waterfront and all boats. We have been served pretty quickly, food have been presented really nicely. Not the cheapest place to go but worth to try and give a go. Very filling. Surely do not need any starters or deserts. Although they had lovely menu for deserts.

Amazing restaurant amazing service. I ordered a steak it was cooked perfect but I ordered it rarer than I like. And they happily took it back and replaced the whole meal!! And added extras. And then gave me a cognac for discounted price to extent their curtesy. Absolutely blown away brilliant! Will be back DO NOT HESITATE TO BOOK A TABLE. 10/10

Celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary. Superb Sunday roast. Everything beautifully cooked. Pudding was delicious too. Sorry for the ‘tucked in’ photos. Excellent staff. Friendly and very accommodating. Definitely recommend ❤️

Absolutely lovely place to stop off for a relaxing lunch.. This was our third visit...Staff are always so helpful and friendly. Food was yummy. House wine actually was really good.Great select menu...yummy. They have set courses or you can choose from the a la carte...We just ordered two glasses of wine, hummus rye bread side and two mains... Excellent ✨Toilets clean and well maintained.Covid procedures excellent... staff still wearing masks, thank you 🙏Can't fault.Highly recommended.Thanks guys 🌻
