Excellent on all counts: 4 of us plus 2 dogs had a wonderful experience. Food, service, drinks and atmosphere all top drawer.

The staff were the friendliest I have come across and the food was the best Sunday roast I have had out and about. We was made to feel very welcome from start to finish. Very nicely furnished traditional country pub. Made the most of the dry weather playing on the park at the rear and used the football goal with my children. Will definitely visit again.

Excellent food at an excellent price. The Old Mill at Saxstead Green has a great atmosphere with very helpful staff. The meals are wonderful and the sweets are beyond words all meals and sweets are freshly prepared. You will not come away feeling disappointed or hungry.Would highly recommend the Old Mill

My mum & I went here to see my daughter off on the Boxing Day Hunt. We had some time to kill while we waited, so we went inside to try the carvery. The pub has a very traditional countryside feel to it, which was really nice as you don't see that very often anymore. They had mulled wine available, as it was Xmas. I don't normally drink wine, but had a glass to try it. It was so good! Honestly, if I wasn't driving, I could've had several! We were seated in the restaurant area by a very attentive waiter, who made sure we had everything we needed. We opted for the carvery, which was a mixture of beef & turkey, with carrots, red cabbage, sprouts, roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding & plenty of gravy. It was all cooked to perfection & tasted amazing. For dessert, I had Xmas pudding with custard & my mum had a chocolate fudge sundae. We retired to the car to recover & wait for the hunt to return, as we were both stuffed!Best meal out for a long time! If I find myself in the area again, I will definitely be back.

Really good food here, the cheese burger was devine. Nice cosy warm interior. Lovely.

Have been going to this pub for many years and Ruth and Nick are good hosts. Always enjoy their roast lunches. Plenty of parking.

Fantastic pub!We were made very welcome, wonderful Sunday carvery lunch, we had both pork, with crackling and beef. Couldn’t fault it. Would highly recommend. Even had a dry Sherry before dinner which is rare to find in many pubs.Would also highly commend the very friendly but highly efficient staff. Will definitely be back. One more important factor, excellent value for money !!Many thanks for a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Our first experience of this establishment and we were not disappointed. We had ten in our party and everyone said they had had a lovely meal. Several of us had the carvery roast which was cooked to perfection. We will certainly be visiting here again. Thank you.

We were driving back from a day at the seaside and were struggling to find anywhere that served good food at reasonable prices ..I saw this place on the map and we were sold when we saw it had a 7 day carvery! When we got there it was very quiet and we were worried it was going to be a bit rubbish, but we were so wrong! As soon as we walked in, we saw the carvery meat, which looked delicious! My partner had a generously portioned carvery, and I had a breaded chicken goujon burger. We couldn't fault either dish, and the crackling was fantastic! We live around 60 miles from this pub, but we'll hunt it down next time we're at the seaside for sure! It's a hidden gem!
