Not impressed with the make your own pizza part of the store, it's nothing like the Colchester store in service, i went today to the Clacton store to get a make your own pizza now I always have a Stone baked base, but I was told today by the young lad today that the base is the same as a thin and crispy base, well I have never been told that at Colchester and I've been having there make your owns for the past 10yrs, I even showed the guy the difference in the bases with what was on show at the front that one is slightly toasted where as the other isn't, but he was adamant that they was the same base so I've came away with a thin and crispy base which is not what I wanted, not only that I was left for 20mins waiting for someone to attend to me in fact i had to ask a member of staff to get someone to serve me, j am not impressed maybe you should train your staff a bit better before putting them to serve at a counter

Typical supermarket but one of the better ones, prices are good lots of selection.

Dean, who works on the click and collect, is absolutely superb. Always friendly and helpful. He went back in the shop to find an alternative bottle of wine that was “unavailable” as part of the meal deal. Hold onto him!

I parked up, and I went in, bought what I went in there for, paid for it, and left. Good chat with a friend from school, way back in the mid 1970's, on the way out. Good to see & hear from old aquantencies.

The shop is OK, but the one way system is ignored by customers and staff, and there was certainly no enforcement by staff. It was very busy when I went, and didn't feel particularly COVID secure. The selection of items is good, but found the clothes disappointing. I was impressed with the selection of DVDs, books and magazines. Also their seasonal selection was good. The cafe is lovely and very reasonably priced. The cafe staff are very friendly and chatty. It's a shame that not all staff are like that. The staff member on the self-service was quite offhand and borderline rude on my latest visit, though with how busy it was there, they had probably had enough for the day! I will visit again, but will use one of the tills rather than the self-service.
