Colins Battered Sausage in Tendring

First time I have visited this place. Takeaway Cod and chips and battered sausage were cooked fresh while I waited. Polite friendly service. Nice tasting food. Average prices. Small area with tables and chairs for eating in. Parking close to shop was a problem when I visited (thurs 5pm).

I went here yesterday with my family for the first time and had a lovely meal for lunch. Nick was very friendly and gave us generous portions of food. We didn't even need dinner!

Quality of batter on fish was horrible, too thick. Chips where okay. But could have been better. Wish I went somewhere else.

Always clean and lovely service. Prices have raised recently so not for everyones budget. Always good food. Regular customer.

I was asked to look for another nearby chippy by my mother in law, as her local is being renovated, and I think she was getting a bit fed up of supermarket bought fish and fish fingers for her ‘Fish & Chips’ Friday.So I popped into Colin’s and was warmly greeted and within 5 mins I was walking out with my telephone order; it was ready spot on time that I asked it to be ready.My mother in law was nicely impressed with her cod and chips, and there was ample cod bites to share with my wife, and the large chips went around all three of us.The fish was moist and succulent, the batter was golden and crisp. The chips were just right, soft on the inside and a crunch on the outside.Thank you for a great ‘Fish & Chip’ Friday!

Not a patch on the previous owners unfortunately. Very pleasant people but the chips were reheated, the fish was not the same quality and the batter not light and fluffy anymore.

Quality food properly cooked. Lovely friendly staff. Had their first home delivery! Food piping hot and delivered on time. Excellent.

First visit under the new management but it won’t be the last. Food was excellent, chips to die for ! Everything was cooked fresh and to perfection. Nick was very hospitable, real people person. Ordered our order at 11 this morning to collect at 6 as we were going to pick up our granddaughters up for the weekend . The kids were so excited about having scampi and chips . their favourite. Husband went to collect a 6 to be told they had sold out of the scampi What was the point in ordering? Totally unacceptable. We was given 2 sausages for our trouble . REALLY !!!!!!!!! Won't be returning anytime soon .
