Mr chips in Tendring

Cod and chips were really delicious and in a large size. They cooked to order, so everything was fresh. Although we have waited for a long time, everything was worth it.

Excellent chippy, very pleasant people selling a quality product. Only snag is everything is cooked to order which is also one of its better points. Fresh cooked quality product.

Best fish and chips in the area (my personal view). Although a long wait for food, as cooked to order, it's well worth it. Piping hot food, fresh and delicious. Very cheap too.

Qualiy of our food ans portion sizes were excellent. I would agree with other reviewers who say it's probably best to phone first and then collect, as it's clearly popular with good reason :)

Having asked some locals for a recommendation, I greatly enjoyed my 'medium' cod and 'small' chips. Both were very generous portions, and very tasty. My serving was freshly cooked whilst I waited outside, chatting to another customer. I shall be very happy to return to this chippy!

In terms of size and value, they are wonderful and deserves a mention. When it comes to taste and authenticity of real fish & chips, it didn't go well on me.. Their batter is of the tempura style; which is super light and crispy.The problem with using this tempura style batter is the deeper parts of the fish and crevices is uncooked. Taste awful and sogs oil like a supertanker. This style batter also means no salt, no malt, and no beer.The classic fish fusion with Chinese style fusion doesn't sit well with me. Prefer the quintessential beer batter British style fish & chips

First Fish n Chips for months due to covid, & wow was worth the wait, my friend & I had a brisk walk along sea wall & on way back found Mr chips was open (lunchtime) such lovely food & service they was so happy to serve us & cooked the food fresh for us & we didn’t mind the wait while it was cookingWell done Mr chip shop, look forward to having more fish n chips from you Thank you
