Reg's Restaurant in Tendring

Great clean establishment, freshly cooked, really good portions for the price. Lovely cod..

The staff were helpful and friendly, that's why they are getting 2 stars. The food, however, was disappointing. Although the fish itself was nice and fresh, the batter was overcooked, that was a shame, the thing I disliked the most was the fact that the chips were a mixture of fresh and mostly re-cooked chips, which you could easily tell just by the taste. I'm sad to say that I will never be going there again as it's not worth the money.

Amazing place! outstanding food, chips are the best, always fresh, kebabs are so delicious, large portions, quality of the food had never disappointed me. Very polite staff.

The fish and the batter were exceptional but the chips were awful. When we complained the cook claimed they were freshly cooked but they clearly weren’t. I can tell when chips have been reheated by being dipped again, or been left under the lights. They had brown streaks and were dry. Such a shame. We wouldn’t go back.

Regs Plaice and chips are the best in the World! Lovely staff one lady has worked there a long time so you get to know them. Go try the plaice!

Had scampi n chips and cod n chips for lunch from Reg's was delicious. Lovely clean shop and staff are very friendly. Had as a takeaway but you can ear in their restaurant

We love the quality of the food here. It's an absolute must for dining in or takeaway. Everyone cares about what they are doing and offering. Absolutely first class!

Great food as always, can't believe the lady serving the tables is still there after all these years. Would highly recommend.

Arrived in Clacton for the weekend, and asked around the locals for a good fish & chips.. everybody recommended Reg's. I never go out my way to write a review but this is well deserved! Outstanding food, clean and great staff. Chips were perfect, the fish was so crispy, not oily at all. Two young chefs holding together the business. Family businesses are always the most looked after, most helpful to customers. Will definitely be going again.

Fish and chips brilliant as always even though had to eat them in car. Can't wait to be able to come back in restaurant.
