Good service and good food

Very welcoming place steeped in history, with wooden beams throughout. Server decided to put us right next to a large family, who drowned out any conversation. Prawn cocktail maybe should be made with fresh prawns rather than frozen, but liver and bacon was excellent, as was the chicken Kiev. Would go again as plenty to choose from on menu

I’m on slimming world. The chef came upstairs to see me and made sure I had a slimming world friendly meal, new pots, veg, beef, n separate gravy. The meal was lovely, beef was amazing, veg was soft. Could not fault the meal! Compliments to the chef and the team for helping, will be returning. Xx

Good food, good and friendly people and great food , great price

A real home-made pub grub kind of menu - in a good way. Portions were huge. I would say portions were possibly too huge. I can vouch for the chicken kiev. Slightly bizarre layout but parts of the restaurant are very historical.

Place is quite nice, average selection of drinks, excellent food, and live entertainment. Place was clean and recently renovated

A group of us visited to eat before catching the ferry , we were all soaked through, as we were on motorcycles, and boy was it raining! The staff moved heaven and earth to make us comfortable, and didn't complain one bit, despite the puddles. The food was very good, and great value. I'd recommend to anyone, as long as you don't mind the possibility of damp people eating in the restaurant!
