The hoy in Tendring

Only visited for a quick drink so dont know about the food but told by a local that the food is very good, i will update when we have eaten there. The beer prices are cheap compared to where i live, £2.80 for a pint of Carlsburg pretty good value.

Check their restaurant timings before going in. Most restaurants are closed on Mon/Tuesday. The place is quite nice, warm and cosy.

Had a lovely roast dinner and dessert for the reasonable price of 10.95 would definitely go again .ps get the cheesecake it's fantastic

Super little restaurant small easy uncomplicated menu ,excellent value ,we dine here ALOT,Totally brilliant bar area ,full of friendly locals,lots of little rooms up and down stairs all slightly different plus a pool room ,clean toilets

Good Pub Grub, good quality beers.Eaten here a few times, menu is varied, typical pub grub, chilli, mixed grill, steaks etc, staff are happy to swap chips for baked potatoes, veg for salad, etc nothing is to much troubleFood is always good, service is attentive , and not gonna make a huge hole in your pocket.Leave room for the home made cheese cake - they are to die for.Sunday lunch is plated, choice of meats, and includes a sweet [ and cheesecake is on the list!]Thanks all.

Food is excellent as is the wine. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The bar is also really nice with staff and locals very friendly.

First time at the hoy and a very good first impression, booked for a Sunday lunch and had the food on a table within 10-15 minutes..... will come back the next time I'm in st. Osyth

A lovely friendly atmosphere offered by Ali and the team. Fantastic home cooked food. A basic menu but plenty to chose from and all is cooked freshed. Very reasonable and we will be back!

Popped in while visiting the area. As in was Monday the kitchen was closed, but the staff offered to get us fish and chips, which they did. Good service, good food, good prices. Recommended.
