Popped into this hotel for a meal on the spur of the moment whilst out for the day in Harwich - food was so good - best veggie meal I've had in a while - food came in good time and service brilliant -not the cheapest place to eat but if you want a tasty treat I'd recommend it

Excellent service and the nicest hardworking team I have ever seen!Great clean room, good bed and enough choice for breakfast. So glad we could stay here after Ryanair canceled our return flight

Hello. very hospitable place. we stopped after the ferry, comfortable beds with snow-white sheets. delicious English-style breakfast and people who fell in love with England from the first meeting. thank you for the warm welcome 💕

The best afternoon tea we’ve ever had.Everything was so fresh and of the highest quality. The scones were huge and there was plenty of clotted cream and Tiptree jam.The sandwiches tasted really good and were made with soft fresh bread and there was a great selection of freshly made cakes, all the flavours came through. It was faultless.

The Mayflower Suite was advertised with a nautical theme, an estuary and harbour view, and a working telescope. None of this was true. The theme was an odd mix of rustic farmhouse and tacky plastic with the odd nod to nautical. The view was blocked by the permanently moored radio ship and the RNLI building. The telescope was not the one in the photo and couldn't be adjusted so even if there was something to see it was useless. The kettle had to sit on the floor with an extension lead. There was only one spare socket after the kettle was plugged in and that wasn't easily accessible. There was some crusty stuff on the bathroom vent, either mould or it needed cleaning of dust or leeching on the metal, either way it looked nasty. This room is not worth half the price charged. The only saving grace was Pauline who made the breakfast an absolute delight, her attentiveness and cheery attitude made our day. The attitude from restaurant reception when we asked to book a window view for 8 was actually upsetting and meant we booked at a different restaurant for my birthday family meal. I would not recommend staying in the Mayflower Suite.

The food at The Pier is amazing! All of it was cooked to perfection. The staff were all so lovely and took time to talk to us during our stay. Caroline made us all feel welcome during our stay at breakfast and really went above and beyond. The only thing I really have to say is that the beds felt rather hard but other then that it was perfect and highly recommend.

Had a great time at the pier recently for my birthday. Rooms are decorated as if you were on a ship very clean, light and large room. Food was excellent and the service second to none. Would recommend.

We had a very pleasant lunch here. Service was good and friendly. Food was well presented and tasty. Views from the restaurant were of the estuary.

Perfect food and service, can't fault the place! Their duck tacos were delicious and the famous fish and chips was brilliant as well. Cocktails were good and I'd recommend the plantation pineapple stiggins fancy rum on the rocks!

Great meal in a lovely building on the waterfront at Harwich. I had Modules Marinere and my other half had Fish Pie Luxe. Both excellent. Loads of mussels and really great fish pie. Really attentive, friendly service with a lovely view across the estuary. Would visit again.
