The Ship Inn in Tendring

Great to this pub back to what I remember good food and service with a smile keep it up may be 5 star next time 👍

New landlord and landlady, very nice warm a welcoming with a great new menu with a great variety of drinks.. Will definitely be coming back ...

We have always liked The Ship, great food lovely staff always pleasant. We had a 70th Birthday dinner there just over three years ago with about 30 guests excellent food and service we all had plenty of drinks. The Ship will always be a fond memory for us..

Just had a fantastic meal at the ship great clacton 6 weeks late due to Tony's poor health food great service was fantastic complements to the cheif and staff for a great night many thanks.

Went for Christmas meal on suggestion of regular patron who raves about the place so expectations were high. The place lacked atmosphere and felt rather chilly despite being seated near fire. Meal had been pre-ordered and was literally brought out as soon as we sat down, all felt bit rushed. Portions were good, food was hot but a bit Aunt Bessie which was disappointing.

Pub is really nice. Went for a meal and it was great, so decided to take the parents. This time, it was awful. Lamb chops under cooked and gravy cold. Meat was tough and inedible in the steak and kidney pie. Most of the food was left. We did tell the bar man this and all he said was, I'll tell the chef. This was at 6pm and the place was not busy. Whilst we were eating, some people came and sat at the table next to us. They were also unhappy with there meal and complained about it. I noticed that they also left most of their food. This is a really nice pub, but the food is terrible. We'd probably go back just for a drink, but wouldn't eat there, again.

Mix up when said we'd booked. Waited ages to be served. Tables a bit sticky. Had the roast. Good portion size but roast potatoes had been reheated but the rest of the Meal was nice. Extra gravy in a jug was given automatically. Desserts were really nice. Price was good.

We have dined 3 times with different friends & family since moving here & have not been disappointed. Staff are very friendly & professional. The Sunday roast is superb with choices of meat a good selection of vegetables & always hot. We've had different starters & meals from the menu as well,all of which were lovely. Will be returning soon

Lovely welcoming restaurant. Brilliant service and fantastic meals ...vast menu and a specials board. Afternoon tea is also available which we look forward to having another time. Reasonable prices for the quality of the meals well worth a visit. I would book to reserve a table.
