Really gutted, went tonight for my mums birthday and it was a disaster. Missing starters, 25 minutes for a drink, orders wrong a tv on very loud no atmosphere at all, not a person to be seen to help. We even went home to do the cake instead of it being done in the pub. £162 bill and not a penny taken off for a terrible night of service. Really sad it use to be so good.

Nice place to visit for a drink or meal, under the watchfull gaze of the viaduct casting it's shadow over the Swan Inn. Seems very popular, and the staff friendly and helpful. We had a longer wait for our meals once we had ordered, but it didn't unduly worry us. Others may not be so tolerant! Menu was varied and would suit most, and we were not disappointed once it arrived.

Stopped in for lunch. The weather was pretty poor so didn't get to look at the outside but it looked like it had a bug beer garden at the back behind the carpark. The staff were polite and had a good selection of drinks. The menu was varied with a standard pub menu and also a pizza menu. We went I a Sunday so there was a roast dinner on offer (beef, pork or turkey). The place was busy with a good buzz and although I am sure they could fit you in on a walkin it would probably be best to book.

Really nice cosy feel to the pub, very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. Great menu, good to see a good selection of vegetarian dishes in addition to meat so brilliant for groups or families with mixed dietary preferences. Food was well presented and very tasty. We will definitely be returning soon

Decided at short notice to book a table for a family Sunday lunch. Walked around the local millennium park beforehand which was lovely in the November sunshine. Greeted warmly at the bar and seated swiftly. Attentive staff and soon after amazing food. Well worth a visit. Plenty of parking. A great place to eat any time of year.

Fabulous location, friendly staff and super food. Took a trip into Essex today to enjoy the blue skies and sunshine. Found the Swan Inn by accident and so glad I did. There's a large car park, plenty of seating inside and out, and the ciabatta was delicious, as were the chips. Thank you, I'll be back!

The food was excellent although service was a little slow at times. They were very busy & are probably suffering the same staffing issues as every other catering business in the country right now. The food was wonderful however and the location by the viaduct is stunning. We had a Sunday roast & the children with us had pizzas, which were also great. Would be a good option in summer to sit outside, especially with children for whom there is a good play park.

First visit today with my partner. Both our meals were fantastic and the staff service is top notch. Definitely will be back.

Had two really nice meals at this lovely country pub.Went for lunch and we enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner a few days later and brought some people with us.On Mondays it's 2-1 roast dinners from £14. You'd think that for that price it wouldn't be the best but my fellow dinners said that it was pretty decent for a pub roast dinner. I went for the BBQ ribs which were delicious. I'm quite fussy regarding bbq, especially ribs but these were tender and really flavoursome. They were not smoked but had a great bbq flavour, and as I said nice and tender with a decent crust.Service was a little slow but the staff were lovely and friendly. One of the nicest local pubs I've been to in a gorgeous setting too. The gardens are set next to stream and a historic viaduct. All around a great place to visit.
