Took a sunday drive out for a random lunch and decided to swiftly pop in and see if Wooden Fender could accommodate us. We was met with a very warm welcome and although very busy they very kindly squeezed us in.The food was amazing along with the service and great atmosphere with no clicky feel that you can sometimes come across.I had the wild salmon and my partner had the roast beef. We will DEFINITELY be returning for more and highly recommend 👌

The only picture I took was this gorgeous mouth watering dessert. We went on Valentines evening to the Wooden Fender. It was so stunning. We sat over in the far right near the window of the front. Quite cosy, proper English pub atmosphere which I adore. Our meal was stunning and staff were all so lovely to chat with they were very attentive, but not overly which is perfect! Sense of humour too which I thought was a nice touch! We will definitely be back ♡

Nice pub located about 10 minutes drive from Colchester. Visited for Sunday lunch. Service was friendly, attentive and fast. Food portions good and importantly very tasty.Only down side was where we were seated (table adjacent to toilet door). It was constantly in use, very squeaky and let in a draft.

Really enjoyable early Saturday evening booking. They were actually hosting their rearranged Burns supper when we were there so we sat in the bar which was absolutely fine. The food and beer were excellent and the staff all incredibly friendly and welcoming. Staff clearly all knew their roles and everything was incredibly efficient. The bagpipes also made for a great bit of background atmosphere. Will definitely return.

These people catered for 12 of us. The food was well presented, with lots of options and very courteous staff.Went here again for dinner.Unfortunately, the pie which was my first choice was already sold out. So I opted for Hunters chicken. I'm not too over keen on chips so I asked for mash as a substitute which they kindly obliged to. Once again, my plate was tastefully dressed.

We had a really nice lunch here, lovely food and in generous portions. We got lucky that they had an empty table I'd recommend booking to avoid disappointment.

Visited with a big family reservation for a birthday . Service was friendly, food came out quick and piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I ordered the Ribeye steak which was cooked to perfection . First time dining at this restaurant and will 100% be back . 5☆
