Toby Carvery in Tendring

Nice family orientated venue overlooking the sea. Strongly recommend when not dining, to purchase a drink at the bar and take a seat on the outdoor area where you can take in the sea air and admire the scenery.Food wise, it is of good quality and very well priced. Can get quite busy at times where service does becoming wanting however overall staff have a friendly and helpful attitude which is a testament to their employer's treatment of staff.

For a great choice with your food with an all you can eat then this is a place you should not miss. Yorkshire puddings that are big but light. Meat that's cooked to perfection and a great choice on well prepared vegetables. Inside is is clean spacious and well maintained with staff who look after you from start to finish. Well worth the cost and a homely feel.

Just had an excellent Sunday lunch at the carvery. Wide selection of all meat and vegetables freshly cooked and on hot plates. Generous meat portions. Customer service good too with mature, well trained staff.I had experienced problems ten years ago and hadn’t been since. Glad there’s been a turn round in all aspects.Essential to get there early though, by 1230, if you are to experience long queues.

Really nice waiters but once you come in it’s very hot, the crackling and Yorkshire was horrible and dry and crackling smelt and tasted very strange, the Mac and cheese was okay, the meats were kind of dry and had very little seasoning, and the potatoes were very unedible. If you wanna order from the menu then the food is okay but the carvery was just not what I expected. I’m sadly not satisfied.

My partner and I had a lovely meal here last week. The food was very tasty, but what made it such a memorable experience was the waiter we had, Harry. His customer service was immaculate. Made us feel very welcome and relaxed. He was cheerful, courteous and friendly. Xx

Attended a Wake for a funny, kind and lovely gentleman. The carvery was the best Toby Carvery I've had (this is the 3rd one I've tried). Meat cooked beautifully, veg was a amazing - so much choice - nothing overcooked or dried out. Delicious! Service was also very attentive, efficient and friendly.

Me and my had Christmas Day meal here. The pub was clean. The person who served us Harry was superb. Very friendly and helpful. The food was most enjoyable. Tables where cleaned between customers.

Staff were amazing and friendly. They provided a top quality service. Something you wouldn't expect from a carvery but was a welcomed surprise.Attentiveness was top notch and care to allergens was exemplary.Buzzing atmosphere and as always... you cannot beat a proper traditional roast.A great restaurant for the brand. Would come again.

I went for the extra large which defeated me 3/4 of the way through. All the meats plus 2 sausages and a The biggest yorkie or 2. Then help yourself to the veg and sides. Was tasty and fresh and would recommend.Price was a little expensive and maybe upped the prices for the august holiday. £8.99 plus £1.99 to go large. Plus £3.99 for refill drinks. This is pretty standard for eating out but it used to be £5.99 for a midweek carvery making it a bit more affordable when taking the family.We went again for breakfast a few days later and again was lovely and all help yourself with a huge Yorkshire pudding to go with! Lovely.Overall was a nice filling meal and would recommend.
