Tollgate in Tendring

Excellent cod and chips not swimming in oil. Lovely crispy batter . Good size standard cod fillet and chips freshly cooked and not soggy. Well wrapped and still hot after a mile walk back to car. All in all a great chippy.

Great doners,great fish,top chips, try spam fritters as a side, if you are hungry.

What a shame! Fish was dry and tasteless. Used to be so good - a highlight of a trip to Walton. Have recommended to several friends over the years. Cook it fresh or be prepared to throw it away if it's been under the heat lamp too long. Will probably give it another try, hopefully they can redeem themselves. Sorry for the comments but this needs to be addressed or you'll lose customers.

Tollgate is the best chip shop beewise security always go there when we are working in the area highly recommend it .the lady server is so friendly and nothing is too much trouble .

Highly recommended, staff are friendly the lady behind the counter is lovely very helpful,The fish is really nice portion size is good value for money plenty of choices burgers, chicken nuggets, sausages chicken burgers, pies and more, the only chip shop I use
