Winkies Take-Away and Restaurant in Tendring

Visited a week ago excellent fish and chips,they were due to close in the next half and hour,but still made time for us to eat in the restaurant ,will definitely be returning.

Really nice fish and chips, a little on the expensive side as one medium fish and chips, one child's fish and chips, one child's chips with fish fingers and one small chips with large battered sausage and a can of coke came to £25 but overall very tasty and cooked from fresh to order so I think it's worth paying a little bit more as you know if it's fresh 😁👍

I sorry to say that for the first time I was disappointed with my kids fish & chips.We order most weekends as a treat and my son really enjoys winkies food but today, although the quality was as good as normal, the piece of fish was half the size of the normal we receive and the chips were only about a half portion too

The best fish and chips in brightlingsea. Best to phone ahead as is always busy. Eat in available sometimes, always a friendly welcome, £10 or over for card transactions

Went to Winkies with friends for the first time. Welcoming staff in their small but comfortable restaurant. Ordered a medium size cod and chips as recommended because the large is so big. They were right. The medium was large. The fish was excellent. Nice and crispy batter with lovely white tasty fish. The chips were crisp on the outside and soft inner. Perfect. I wasn't left bloated. The best fish and chips I've ever had. One down side is the parking. Shall return soon.

Must say.. Went Crabbing with the kids yesterday and fancied some chips before setting off home and they were without doubt the best Chips I've ever had!Crispy in the outside fluffy on the inside and not greasy at all!Even the Sausage in batter was excellent!Will definitely be going back next time!
