Smart pub made up of 3 old buildings across from the village green, with dining area and a garden.

We’ve eaten here for years and the food is always incredibly good, as is the service and country pub feel. However, we have been there 3 times over the last few weeks and they’ve not been able to serve us food - which as locals is disappointing that they serve passing trade but not look after their own local customers. Doubt we will be returning for a while until service return to its usual high level - and that we can actually get to eat.

Great little friendly pub/restaurant. Food is OK. Some portions are not great, steak sandwich had very little meat, would rather pay a few ÂŁ more and have a decent serving.

Excellent - a really top pub in a lovely village. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and out table outside on the covered terrace was lovely. Steak sandwich and burger really delicious and a good selection of beers on tap. Highly recommended!

Had a great experience here. Food was great although a bit pricey. The dessert was slightly underwhelming but can be overlooked because of the great atmosphere and friendly staff. Would come here again for Sunday roast!

We will definitely visit again and recommend to others. Our young waiter was very attentive and helpful. Our daughter has multiple food allergies so we really appreciated the Allergen Filter on the pub's website which we've not come across before. This made it so much easier to narrow down which meals were suitable for her and made the experience a lot less stressful.

Good - My wife and I have dined several times at the pub on our own and with friends. Although we like the food we both feel that lt could be hotter. Yesterday my mash and the cabbage was only warm. Will still come again.

Visited for my father’s birthday today and felt it was all rather average, which is a shame given the reviews. Starter took 45 mins to arrive (just the charcuterie platter, which requires zero cooking unless you count the roasting of the accompanying bread!) and only after we asked where it was, and the main meals were ok/goodish but not excellent (both the burgers were overdone and crispy on the outside for example) . Chips/fries were great though, the gin and wine list also great, and care taken for my dairy allergic son which was much appreciated. The actual pub is also very lovely and there is plenty of parking.

All the food we ordered was superb. Best fish and chips I've had in a very long time, and the staff were really friendly. We'll be definitely visiting again and would recommend.

Popped in for an impromptu lunch and a coffee. Nice ambience and perfect lighting. In regards to my lunch, I can say it was the best Turkey, bacon and brie ciabatta I have ever had.

A very busy car park and pub in a lovely setting. The food was quickly served and well presented. Alicia was an excellent waitress. Food was good rather than excellent and good value for the location. A great centre for a walk of the Chess Valley. Checkout AllTrails app for details of the walk.
