lotus Beijing & Cantonese in Thurrock

I used to be a regular here. Staff were friendly and as I was a regular was usually honoured with free prawn crackers. However, seems like there has been a change of hands in recent months. The receptionist is quite rude, never smiles and even when I asked if it had changed management she denied it. Food has definitely changed too, can tell it is poor quality ingredients and watered down

Worse Chinese ever - weird rice, stale chips and cold curry sauce - vile - do not use

Used this place a few times in the past 6 months but unfortunately i cannot rate it higher than a 3. The sauces are average and the rice doesnt seem like its fried. Chips are ok but the noodles can be very hit and miss, sometimes slimy, tasteless and undercooked. The chicken balls were decent. Other places are cheaper and tastier though so its not likely i would return

This place has amazing food. Some of the best I’ve tasted in chafford hundred. Their their receptionist for ordering food is absolutely disgusting. He’s rude and has the most annoying attitude. I’d suggest firing him because he’ll probably be the downfall of this business

We where trying lotus again after long break. Few years back food was amazing unfortunately after management change whole place went downhill. Food not tasty at all. Shredded beef had so much vinegar you couldn't tast what you where eating. Chicken noodle soup tasted like water. :( Big disappointment

I'm a big fan of this takeaway. We have been using it for years and it never disappoints. It's exactly what you would expect from a decent Chinese takeaway and the portions are pretty good

My favourite! The food is always reliably delicious, so lucky to have this just up the road.

Wow lovely food every time we loved hear 2 years ago and having tried a few places this for us is the best lovely chips and chow main sauces are lovely we always order a lot and it's always so tasty only downside they don't deliver so you have to drive there

Order from here most weeks as a family. The past couple of weeks it has been very dry and tasteless. Something has changed and we are thoroughly disappointed. With great regret we will be changing our local Chinese.

I had ordered 6 dishes off there menu, when asking how long this would be, they stated 15mins for collection!!!!! That was shocking to me, as this did not seem to be cooked from fresh, when going home and plated My food which was only 4mins away from restaurant the food was cold, which then made me think that it must of been microwaved, which the plastic container was hot but the food inside cold as fridge, which I find unacceptable, I guess if you order fried food I.e chicken balls they would have to cook it fresh, after I reheaded it in my own microwave the taste was not all that.i hope they read this review and work on making sure all food is hot through out.i don't know if I would order again..
