What a pile of tasteless mush.... I am a keen cook and regularly cook my own curry's using BIR base gravy standards. Everything we ordered was bland and tasteless.. the additional items such as vegetables and chicken were also substandard and probably the cheapest around. The cost of the meal was no way reflected in the quality. The only reason a 1 star was left is because the delivery was quick.. I fear the downfall of local restaurants with sub par ingredients, cooks and high prices. TBH I have tried other like restaurants in town and the food quality is much the same so they all must use the same suppliers.

The chicken Rogan was the worst I’ve ever had, it tasted of nothing but vinegar threw most of it away. Husbands meal was also dry and bland, only nice thing was the Naan. Very disappointed will not get a takeaway from there again 🤬

Really great food. Most definitely the best curry house around corringham and stanford. Would recommend the chef/montys speciality dishes.Staff are always incredibly friendly and make the effort to know your name and wait on you top star.Restaurant is only small so would recommend booking a table.

Excellent food good service, nice atmosphere.

We ordered from here and it was delivered very quickly. When we opened up the tandoori chicken dish, the meat was dark and smelt off. Make sure when ordering this dish, you ask for fresh chicken as the sauce covers up the meat. The meat was rank.

Just had our first takeaway from Montys and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was excellent and delivered quicker than stated. Will definitely use again. Thanks Montys.

Thought I'd try a new takeaway. Chose Monty's - who didn't deliver to where I live in Basildon - and had reasonably high expectations (given that they had apparently been short listed for some regional award). However, in all honesty, I was disappointed. The madras lacked spiciness and the rest of the order was pretty bland too. Sorry, Monty's. I was really hoping to find a new regular takeaway but, alas, it won't be you.

After reading many reviews of all the local restaurants and always being a fan of the Bikash, I thought I'd try Montys. The staff were attentive and polite. The food looked amazing, full of colour and vibrance. The flavours matched with good size potions. The ambience was pleasant and made for a really nice evening. Definitely will be returning very soon.

Disappointed Regulars.Normally an excellent experience, great food and service, the other night was poor, prawns were hard, most of the dishes were just warm.We brought it to the staff's attention but they were not interested.Soon paid our bill and left, perhaps we will try panahar just round the corner.

A much improved experience from the last time I visited in 2012. Although the interior is rather basic, the service received was very good. The food was very tasty and nicely presented. It didn't take long to arrive either, despite being a full restaurant at Christmas time. The prices were incredibly reasonable too. Well done to the management. Will definitely visit again.
