The Ship in Thurrock

The food was really good and is now our place to go as a family. The staff were warm & welcoming with an open eating area. Well worth a visit or 2 👍🏻

Enjoyed a nice meal with friends and then drinks. Good atmosphere, food not bad at all.

Absolutely love the Ship, the staff in there are always so kind and patient.My mum and I often meet for a little lunch, and they're so accommodating.We've eaten quite a few things from the menu, from their burgers to their roasts, soups, loaded fries.... everything has always been fresh and delicious.Great pub, look forward each visit!

Food was ok but dessert I had was very dry and not nice I asked for it to be changed and was told I'd have to repay disgusting treatment .. Never in all my heads as a manager in hospitality would I ever treat a customer in this manner.. Ai spoilt the whole evening for me

Big thanks to Sam & her team for providing a lovely venue and a delicious buffet, as my family & friends said goodbye to someone very dear to us today. Having been recommended to The Ship by a colleague we met with Sam and discussed our needs and she could not have been more friendly & accommodating, even down to letting us choose the music playing through the sound system whilst we were there. The staff were absolutely lovely and the whole experience was perfectly fitting for our needs, and then some. Thank you Sam for everything you & your team did for us today. It could not have gone any better! See you again soon!

Very pleasant and tastefully revamped. Popped in for drink on way home. Was bitten 3 times by mosquito on shoulder, arm and back whilst sitting inside. Very strange as never usually bitten inside places although mossies do love me!

Service is fantastic. Many pubs are falling short with new staff etc but The Ship has excelled. The girl serving us seemed nervous but apologetic and so polite. Consistently asked if we wanted another drink with 1/5th left in the glass, even though we were in the garden out of sight.Although the food took a long time to come, it was surprisingly good - especially for the money. Typical pub grub but with a varied menu and reasonable prices - unlike The Bull down the road.The garden could do with a bit of maintenance. The old picnic benches are worn and it's all a little tired. That's my only complaint though. Otherwise, very happy.

Food wasn't good. Service was ok by waitress but she was on her own and rushed off her feet and serving behind bar while the other female bar person was standing there folding napkins around cutlery. She was also extremely rude and defensive. When asked how much longer a prawn sandwich and flatbread and chips was going to take, after waiting over half hour, I was told another 10 mins to which I replied that was ridiculous. She snapped at me and said it's a new menu and they were busy. Yes there were a few in there but that should be expected on a Friday lunch time? Then the food came out, the handful of chips for an extra £1 we were given were ridiculously small (see photos). When we complained again staff were rude. I would not recommend or return again unless I heard there were major changes made to improve the service
