Friendly, welcoming, dog friendly and scones to die for. If weather good, then a pleasant seating area outside Excellent coffee!!!!!!!! The best

I regretted walking in this place the moment I set down. There’s a lovely tea house around the corner that I’ll choose in future.I appreciate your response. As I am a molecular biologist and an epidemiologist, I have for many years made my own hand sanitizers for personal use. In doing so I try to keep my ingredients to a minimum and be sensitive to any potential allergens. I'd be grateful if you could post what particular ingredient she is allergic to?

You can't come into Saffron Walden without coming into Kim's for a lovely cup of tea and their perfect crumpets. I have never been able to get my crumpets at home to be as buttery or fluffy as they do here. And there is such a wide variety of tea and coffee to try, and the team are the loveliest people. We've been coming for years, and will continue

Edit after being called a troll by the owner: I am certainly not a troll, just a one time customer who left an honest review of my experience. A loose definition of a troll could be: a troll is a person who posts inflammatory, insincere, digressive, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, with the intent of provoking readers into displaying emotional responses, or manipulating others' perception. Clearly my experience and that of others would demonstrate that the rating I gave isn’t inflammatory, insincere etc. and that maybe you could take it as an opportunity to improve rather than hurling abuse to locals.

We always try to support independent businesses. Felt unwelcome on arrival and the experience was uncomfortable or awkward. Good coffee.Edit: thank you for your prompt response. But, I was not wearing a mask.

Walked in with 4 friends and wondered why it was so quiet on a busy Sunday. Saw the signs against masks and hand sanitizer; that would explain it. Not sure I want to catch covid with my tea, so we walked out and went to the nice cafe across the road.

Edit: Very unwelcoming, as confirmed by owner's reply.Original review:Very weird and unwelcoming. Place looks great through the window, but entering I was shocked with the anti mask signs. Got very weird looks entering with my buggy when I saw a different sign saying buggies are forbidden. Felt very uncomfortable and left to a great shop across the road.

The chalkboards outside are all you need to know about this place. Comparing the attempted obliteration of an entire race to telling people who made a choice to stay home for a few weeks in order to save the lives of others is so gross. Hopefully the market forces that the owners also so clearly don’t understand will cause this weird place to no longer exist. No doubt I’ll get some ranting response from the owner.EditAh ha ha ha. The rant was even more bizarre than I expected.Although the fact the owner actually confirms that he feels that holocaust was a similar experience to staying at home is unbelievably disgusting. Please don’t support this establishment.

The most relaxed, enjoyable and delicious proper tea and scones. Amazing selection of jams and teas, superb service, delicious scone served in a very safe and casual atmosphere. An absolute MUST for a posh cafe style treat. Great prices too.

Fine food and drink to be had here. Also a veritable oasis offering respite from the insanity currently faced in so many other establishments. Could easily be back in 2019!
