Hotel was very comfortable. Loved the bath in bedroom. Clean and modern. Breakfast medioca - in the menu waffles was advertised as plural with bacon and syrup - what I actually got was 1 waffle - no bacon. Only orange juice for breakfast- no variety. Staff serving breakfast appeared a bit off, not particularly happy or friendly. It was stated that car park was for people with blue badge, however the cars parked in there had no badge on show, I was then made to park in a main carpark, however I have a blue badge because of having cancer and having ankle strapped up at moment. Walking g is painful. There is an amazing steak house opposite pretty much, where thr food was delicious 😋

Went to their bottomless brunch. We had a super time and the staff were very accommodating and friendly and drinks and food were nice. My one big gripe would be the portion size. I ordered the caesar salad and it was about 3 mouthfuls. They need to be mindful that this is advertised as brunch, thus the portion size should be filling.

I had an early morning flight from London Stansted and so wanted to stay the night somewhere close by. The Linden is a really nice, character filled hotel. It was extremely comfortable and allowed me to get some rest and sort my things out before I had to fly.

The food in the restaurant is really great quality after many times coming. The roast dinners are perhaps the best I’ve had.The decor and ambience is also spot on. Highly recommend.

We had the roast dinner on Sunday which was absolutely delicious. Everything was piping hot which is unusual these days. Wine was delicious and staff super helpful. Would definately return and recommend.

Very disappointed that the new owners are refusing to accept a voucher gifted to me. I care for my mum who has Alzheimer’s for night of respite .I have even suggested that they could allow me to stay on a night they don’t have many bookings so effectively not ‘costing’ them . But they have refused.Extremely disappointed

My partner and I have been to The Linden a few times now, however, this was the first time since it has been taken over by a new team. We have always loved staying here but was even more impressed this time around. Lovely changes were made to the outside seating area, amazing cocktails! The room was just as nice as before, if not better! Very clean and the staff are so lovely. Thank you for a fabulous stay. We will be sure to return.

Booked a room in this hotel in June 2021 for 2 nights staying 30th April and 1st May as we are attending a wedding nearby. Called the hotel today to be told the hotel changed hands in September 2020 and there is no reservation, there are no available rooms and that it is not their responsibility to have informed us. Completely unhelpfulSo we are left with no hotel to stay in and had we not called we would have been none the wiser until we arrived to be turned awayWhat an absolute disgrace!

Best lunch in a very long time. The premises have recently reopened and are doing an excellent Prix Fixe meal Wednesday to Saturday. The food was sublime..I had scotch egg..cooked to perfection with golden yoke.My partner had fresh tasting pea soup.We followed with roasted cod which flaked beautifully, served with a braised and grilled fennel. I had a piece of sirloin with braised red cabbage, fresh spinach and shallots... With a sticky, reduced meat gravy. For pudding I had fresh pineapple, cooked with spicy Szechuan peppers and other fragrant spices with clotted cream ice-cream and an amazing honey flavoured tuille. My partner had fabulous sticky toffee pudding with the same ice-cream.The house rose was so good we had two bottles!Pav, the restaurant manager was attentive without being obsequious. We were the only people eating, but I'm sure that the secret will be out of the bag soon... 85 quid for 3 courses and two bottles of wine is an absolute steal.Best food for miles

What a lovely place to stay! Staff have been so kind and welcoming, making us feel at home. The food is great, the rooms are really clean and comfortable and the general ambiance is really cozy. Thanks Keith, Mike, Kneal (hope I'm spelling this correctly!) and Mercedes for taking such good care of us!! We will be back soon. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
