OK. Expensive for the quality of the food. Mint in a burrata instead of Basil was interesting.Good menu options but thought for what is essentially a white fish dish that should be reasonably priced, they were ghr same price as cuts of beef.Scallops were cooked well and were of a good size albeit a little under seasoned. This could be down ti personal taste however.Staff were nice and setting was lovely. But didn't feel the quality represented the £.

Excellent lunch time menu, with choice of two courses for £22. Good selection of wines and beers. Friendly helpful staff, giving great service.

·

Definitely one of the better restaurants in the area. A refreshing alternative to chain restaurants and gastro pubs.

·

The food is very nice the young staff might need a little bit more training but well worth a visit.

Dropped in here for lunch after a visit to the castle. It was very quiet at midday on Saturday but suspect due to COVID.To be honest I was a little suspicious of the Google rating. Too good to be true for the prices on the menu?Well the waiter was very polite and helpful. The interior was smart and clean. The food was excellent. The moules frites, fish of the day and chicken were really impressive. The chef did a superb job. Desert was excellent too. They were very happy to do anything on the menu as a child's portion too.So does it deserve its Google rating? Absolutely. Highly recommended.

We ordered for a home delivery and were very impressed. It may sound expensive, but the menu was really well thought out - and worked perfectly for home delivery, the main courses stayed perfect in the oven while we had the delicious starters - so for a high quality restaurant experience during lockdown, The Brasserie is highly recommended.

Delicious food, wonderful service and the owners could not go to more effort to make sure you have a memorable time here. It’s a must if you live in Essex!

Lovely food. Took a while to get get served, though it was very busy and when our order was finally taken, the waiting staff were very good and attentive
