Fine food and drinks, catered for dogs too which was lovely. My Australian family loved it, also for its quintessential Englishness (thatched roof and oak beams).

Fantastic little find. What lovely staff also. Great food. Comfy beds. Really pleased.

Well having read the other reviews and seen the website plus photos I must say was disappointed when we turned up pre flight for lunch. It looks amazing from the front but very tired inside and at the back. Could have done with a clean up and as for food not sure if a chef was there but looked like it was cooked on a George Foreman grill and a fryer as soaked in oil and tough bit of thin steak. Would be as it advertises if cleaned up and food was better quality. My advice and honest opinion would be to avoid if going on website images as not reflective of what you get

Excellent pub...with wonderful main selections. Wonderful wait staff. Very much enjoyed!

Great little pub off the beaten path. Owners are very friendly. Food is good but the beer and atmosphere are the main attractions. Nice beer garden when the weather is decent.

Love love love this place. The Chef is absolutely brilliant with crazy generous portions, haven’t had a bad meal here. The old adage that English food is terrible does not apply at The Ash. Staff is a delight and lots of great WWII memorabilia. Highly recommend this place!

Great village pub with plenty of parking.Food was very good and good sized portions.Deserts were amazing, as was the coffee.Local real ales available, alongside the normal pub drinks selection.Nice friendly staff.Close to Stansted Airport if you need to wait for an arrival and you need food 😁

Visited Jun2021 after a 10 mile walk. Sat outside in the evening sun, gently serenaded by the sounds of Stansted Airport trying to convince the world that it was busy. This is a Greene King pub, so the quality is controlled, you know what you are going to get. And sure enough, we got a friendly welcome, good service, well-kept beer and good, middle-of-the-road pub grub. The pub is kitted out for families. In these slightly fake lockdown times, the pub has provided a large marquee for sheltered outside dining, filled with dozens of standard pub benches. There are also tables and chairs on a veranda for those of a middle-class persuasion.Menu is comprehensive. The prices are typical of Greene King in the East of England. The pub was fairly quiet on this locked-down Saturday evening, with perhaps 17 adults and 3 children visible from our garden seat during our meal. It is in a quiet village.

Lovely setting with lots of parking & just a stones throw away from Stansted Airport. Food & service was excellent. County pub feel with alfresco dining outside (could do with a few umbrellas for shade 😁) but there is two seating areas inside which are equally as nice.
