The Axe in Uttlesford

This is a lovely little pub, the people are welcoming and friendly. The resident dog is brilliant and on Sunday they even put snacks out on the side. They've got a play area outside for when it's warmer and plenty of seating.

Best pub in all of Saffron Walden. The weatherspoons is filled with millennial liberals and beta males. Weatherspoons cannot compete.

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere with pub games and sports on TV. Two real ales and traditional ciders, along with big brand lagers etc.

Left my headphones in there last week and they tracked me down to make sure they was returned to me. Quality people and place would highly recommend.

Whilst passing through Saffron Walden I went in for a pint of cider and was given complementary roast potatoes and a cheese platter. The pub and it's owners were exceedingly welcoming and as a result I would highly recommend!

Great staff, easy service and nothing too much trouble for them. They have nailed the covid procedures so no worries on that side either. Can't wait to go back

Best pub in Saffron Walden. Great selection of beers and ales at the bar. Jukebox , pool table and darts. Everything you need in a pub. Don't walk into town and go here , great atmosphere.
