Parking on the site. Traditional old village pub unfortunately with smell coming from toilets. In general very busy, great staff and tasty food.

Have been coming here for years for food/drinks (from the barrel).This was the first time we stayed and don't regret it. Susan made sure we had everything, the room was small but this is a old historical building and space is well used. The rest of the place more than make up for a little tight space. FOOD excellent, breakfast could not fought it. Welcome friendly by all staff. Just make sure that we can get a room next time its needed 😌 please. Thankyou for making what was a stressful time for us a bit more relaxing.

Fantastic traditional pub with two real ales served directly from the cask. Sunday roast was substantial and but let down because the meat had dried out.

This is a lovely, friendly country pub serving good honest home made food. The starters were nicely presented. I had the deep fried prawns with sweet chilli sauce and my wive had food envy!!!For mains I had the ribs. They were very good and the sauce certainly tasted home made. My wife had the chicken and leek pie and was really impressed. She wasn’t over enamoured with the veg though.Can’t do a review of a lovely pub like this without mentioning the service. Not intrusive but really friendly. The young lady that looked after us was delightful. Very good at building rapport with clients.A nice evening

Being relatively new to the area, I was introduced to the Crown Inn.I'm so pleased I was. The service is second to non and the food, although a limited selection, is always top quality, served as it should be and always nice.I've been to a few pubs, but this beats hands down any other pub food, and so far it is my pub of choice.I look forward to going at any time.You can't beat good service and great food.

We had a family lunch and were extremely happy with the warm welcome and service hhroughout. The food was of a very high standard and look forward to return again and spend time in the beautiful areas around Saffron Walden.

Nice place situated on bend of a road with plenty of parking at the back of the pub. Has a small but well kept beer garden to the side with patio heater. Nice, tasty meal and staff was very pleasant and helpful. Catered for 11 people.

Nice busy traditional pub. Sunday roast well worth £13, lamb and nutroast were tasty. Owners/staff both friendly and helpful. Will definitely return
